a violin concert May 17 at 6:00 p.m. The concert will be held in the Grace Auditorium of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in Cold Spring Harbor. Kim is the winner of the 2009 Concert Artists Guild Competition and she was award-ed First Prize at the Yehudi Menuhin Competition at the age of 19. Saturday, May 11The acclaimed singer and actress
Andrea Marcovicci will appear in two performances at Tilles Center for the Performing Arts, Saturday, May 11 at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. in Hillwood Recital Hall. Smile will feature music director Shelly Markham on piano, guitarist Jack Cavari and Jered Egan on bass. In a break from the styling of Marcovicci’s previous shows, Smile revolves around happiness — who, how and what it takes to be happy. The program includes songs such as “Are You Havin’ Any Fun?” and “Ain’t We Got Fun?,” “Zing a Little Zong,” a novelty from the 1952 Bing Crosby movie Just for You, and a medley of “Sometimes I’m Happy,” “I Wanna Be Happy” and “It All Depends on You.”
Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. show are $52, and tickets for the 9:30 p.m. show are $42. All ticket prices include a $2 per ticket facility fee.
