Inner Beauty SPA TREATMENTSBRING OUT THE BEST IN EVERY BODY

Antonino Salon and Spa believes thatbeauty is more than skin deep. That’s whyboth locations offer an array of spa servicesthat can bring forth an inner glow by erasingthe effects of stress and daily living – leavingclients revived, refreshed and renewed.

“Looking good and feeling good go hand-in-hand, which is why we created the spa andjoined with Townsend Street Pilates down-stairs,” says Anthony Marsalese of AntoninoSalon and Spa. “We’ve brought together atalented team of professionals, and theresponse from our clients has been excellent.”

Spa services — including skin care, waxing andmassage — are available at both Antonino-Commerce and Antonino-Birmingham. Indesigning the salons’ dedicated spa areas, the goal was to create a therapeutic, relaxingatmosphere.

The Look of Love SUMMER’SSTYLES ARE SOFT AND ROMANTIC

For curls and waves, the glory days arehere. More than ever before, curly, wavyhair with plenty of natural movement is thelook of the season.

According to Anthony Marsalese ofAntonino Salon and Spa, today’s stylescombine looks from two decades – the1940s and the 1980s – to create luscious, full, gently shaped hair.

“If you were to take the more structuredstyles of the ‘40s and loosen them up, that’sthe look right now,” he explains. “Hair isromantic and long with very soft edges.”

Even for naturally curly hair, curling ironsare a popular option for creating super-lushlooks. Anthony recommends a ceramiccurling iron for best results and less stresson hair. Ponytails are hot this summer, asare hair accessories such as silk flowersworn at the top of the ponytail.

The feminine, romantic looks seen in clothing and hair fashion are echoed intoday’s freshest makeup looks. Green andkhaki eyes are popular, as are faces featuring metallic tones or lavender androse shades.

A terrific hair cut and color – such as blendedtone-on-tone copper or golden shades – areessential to achieving this season’s styles. But so are styling and conditioning products designed to maximize and controlnatural curl or promote more curls whenstyling.

“You want to use those products to makethe hair look really finished,” says Anthony.“And treatment products are really impor-tant if your hair is colored or you spend a lotof time in the sun or chlorine. They’ll keepyour hair in good condition so it holdsstyling and color better.”

Antonino Salon and Spa offers a variety ofstyling and treatment products (see “HotProducts” sidebar) and also provides in-salon conditioning and shine treatmentsthat can be added to any salon service.
