Day 1 - Friday 10th April 2015 - ATHENS, GREECE Your journey of a lifetime commences in the ancient Greek city of Athens with selected accommodation in the city region prior to boarding the ship. Your time will be at leisure this afternoon and evening, so you may like to visit the Parthenon on the Acropolis of Athens, or visit the Plaka and enjoy a sidewalk coffee. Alternatively, you may wish to do some shopping or just relax in your hotel. Your tour director will meet you at your hotel to offer local information and confirm details for joining the cruise tomorrow. Overnight: Athens Day 2 - Saturday 11th April 2015 - ATHENS – EMBARKATION You’ll enjoy breakfast this morning and some time for last minute shopping or sightseeing before being transferred by coach to the Piraeus Port to embark on the Ocean Majesty. You will have time to explore the ship, and to relax, unwind, and meet fellow passengers. This afternoon will include a group orientation as we get under way on our first day of sailing. Day 3 - Sunday 12th April 2015 - AT SEA Today we cruise from the Aegean Sea to the Mediterranean Sea, and enjoy the shipboard life and the Ocean Majesty’s fine amenities as we cruise. You’ll enjoy the vista of idyllic Greek islands as we pass by. Day 4 - Monday 13th April 2015 – ALEXANDRIA, EGYPT Today we begin a memorable ‘expedition’ of one of the world’s most ancient and most fascinating civilisations. Our first port of call is Alexandria, the second largest city in Egypt, and known as "The Pearl of the Mediterranean". Alexandria was an important staging post for our troops in both World War I and II. Our land excursion will visit the catacombs of Kom al-Shuqqafa, a Roman burial site, whose family tomb reveals the merging of Egyptian and Roman art and architecture. We’ll descend below ground to visit the tomb and Caracals Hall. Back above ground, you’ll continue to Pompey's Pillar: an 82-foot (25-meter) granite column built to honour Emperor Diocletian, who freed the besieged city and brought food to its starving people. Continuing the Roman theme, you’ll see the Roman amphitheatre: possibly the best preserved Roman site in Egypt. The site also includes the remains of a Roman street and homes. You’ll also visit the famous Alexandria Library. In contrast to the ancient architecture found throughout Egypt, this Norwegian-designed building is a striking piece of modern design. Your excursion will end with a visit to Quaitbay citadel which was built on the site of the ancient pharos (light house of Alexandria). You’ll then be returned to your ship in Alexandria Port to continue sailing towards Port Said. Day 5 - Tuesday 14th April 2015 - PORT SAID, EGYPT, FOR THE PYRAMIDS You won't want to miss one of Egypt’s top attractions: the Great Pyramid of Giza, the last surviving member of the Seven Wonders of the World. Our included shore excursion today will definitely be one to be remembered. Of the 93 pyramids in Egypt, Giza is by far the most famous. There are in fact three main pyramids in Giza; the Great Pyramid of Khufu (or Cheops), The Pyramid of Kafhre and the smaller Pyramid of Menkaura. Each Pyramid is a tomb to a different King of Egypt. In front of the pyramids lies the world-famous Sphinx, (or Abu al-Hol in Arabic, "Father of Terror"). Carved out of a single block of stone, this enormous cat-like sculpture has mesmerized millions of visitors. Day 6 - Wednesday 15th April 2015 - ASHDOD, ISRAEL, JERUSALEM/ BETHLEHEM Your cruise ship docks in Ashdod this morning affording us the opportunity to discover and explore a number of significant Biblical sites. We’ll travel to Bethlehem to visit the cave revered as the place where Jesus was born. The church which was constructed on the site is actually the world's oldest functioning church. Nearby you'll view Shepherds' Field then continue to Jerusalem where you will visit the Upper Room, the traditional site of the Last Supper. We’ll continue to the House of the High Priest Caiaphas, where Jesus was tried before the Sanhedrin. Finally, we’ll visit the Western Wall, the last remains of the Herodian Temple, regarded as Judaism’s holiest site.

Day 7 - Thursday 16th April 2015 - ASHDOD (ISRAEL) BEERSHEEBA Whereas Gallipoli was a defeat, The Battle of Beer Sheba was a strategic and brave victory in World War I. The Battle of Beersheba took place on 31 October 1917, as part of the Sinai and Palestine campaign. It is the site of the famous charge of the Australian 4th Light Horse Brigade who covered some 6 kilometers (3.7 mi) to overrun and capture the last remaining Ottoman trenches, and secure the surviving wells at Birussebi. It was, in fact, the last cavalry charge in history, and saw the significantly outnumbered Australian Lighthorse rout the Turkish troops. Day 8 - Friday 17th April 15 - HAIFA – GALILEE/TIBERIAS – JORDAN RIVER TOUR Your cruise ship docks in the port of Haifa and from there you’ll travel inland to the Sea of Galilee as we visit a number of biblical sites. You'll also stand on the Mount of the Beatitudes, where Jesus expounded the Sermon on the Mount. At Tabgha, the traditional location for the calling of the disciples and the feeding of the 5000, you'll visit the Church of the Fish and the Loaves with its remarkable 4th century mosaic floor. You'll also visit the Chapel of the Primacy then travel to the shore town of Capernaum and stop by the River Jordan. Each of these are significant and fascinating locations likely to have an impact on you. Day 9 - Saturday 18th April 15 - AT SEA Today’s a chance to catch your breath as we spend the full day sailing back into the Aegean Sea. Day 10 - Sunday 19th April 15 - SANTORINI Santorini is an amazing Greek Island built on the rim of an extinct volcano. We’ll anchor in the crater lake and tender ashore with the chance to take the cable car to the high ridges overlooking the Aegean Sea. You may like to enjoy a coffee while overlooking the vast expanse of water below: our cruise ship then seems so tiny. On the other hand, you might enjoy some stimulating shopping among the many handmade needlework items available. Day 11 - Monday 20th April 2015 - KUSADASI, TURKEY Coming ashore at Kusadasi, our land tour takes us to the ruins of the city of Ephesus, the most impressive archaeological site in Turkey. You’ll view the Great Amphitheatre of Artemis and the extraordinary library of Celsus building that once housed 12,000 scrolls. Shopping can include delightful handmade leather items and coats, and the vibrant sights and evocative aromas of the bazaars will treat your senses to a rewarding experience. Day 12 - Tuesday 21st April 2015 - DARDANELLES – ISTANBUL We pass through the narrow strait called the Dardanelles – the reason behind the strategy of the invasion at Gallipoli, then head to the city of Istanbul, sitting as it does on both the European and Asian continents. You’ll be amazed at the amount of shipping passing through this region trading into the Black Sea and Russia. Day 13 - Wednesday 22nd April 2015 - ISTANBUL Our full day tour of Istanbul will include features like the Topkapi Palace, the sultans’ official residence for over 400 years. You’ll see the Sultanahmet Imperial Mosque, famous for its magnificent blue tiles, along with the Hippodrome and the famous spice bazaar. The Spice Bazaar (or Egyptian Bazaar) is one of the oldest bazaars in the city. Located in Eminonu, it’s the second largest covered shopping complex after the Grand Bazaar, which is a maze of over 4000 shops. The air at the Spice Bazaar is filled with the enticing aromas of cinnamon, caraway, saffron, mint, thyme and every other conceivable herb and spice. We’ll capture this experience with all of our senses, appreciating that we’re really in a country with totally different customs to our own. Day 14 - Thursday 23rd April 2015 - GALLIPOLI We’ll be ashore today and enjoy some further sightseeing and shopping in Istanbul, before travelling by coach through the rugged countryside towards Gallipoli. We will visit the emotive Lone Pine Cemetery, and of course, the beach at Gallipoli. The steepness of the terrain will help you visualise the hardships for the Australian and New Zealanders as well as those from other countries, including Turkey, as they valiantly fought to protect their homeland. After a poignant unforgettable day, we’ll return to our ship as it docks near Anzac Cove.

Day 15 - Friday 24th April 2015 - GALLIPOLI The peninsular is closed to traffic today, and so we’ve arranged for a tour to nearby Troy (made famous by Homer in his Iliad), where you can explore the site and visit the Temple of Athena. Troy is one of the most famous cities in history, reminding us of Hector, Achilles and Achaean Greeks, of Helen, Paris, Agamemnon and Priam. Your guide will explain the mythology surrounding Troy, the Trojan Horse and Helen of Troy. Anzac Cove opens late this afternoon and for those camping overnight you will need to ensure that you have adequate warm weather and waterproof gear, sleeping bags and water. Those not camping will remain onboard our ship. Day 16 - Saturday 25th April 2015 - ANZAC DAY - GALLIPOLI Today you will have the choice to participate in Anzac Day either on shore (if you elected to camp overnight), or to remain on board. There’s a very long walk to the site of the services, and for those unable to undertake the walk, the ship will receive a live broadcast of the services in the ship’s theatre on a large screen. Later in the day we will sadly start our last sailing leg heading for Piraeus: our last night together on the ship. Day 17 - Sunday 26th April 2015 - PIREAUS DISEMBARK After breakfast on board we will disembark to our waiting coaches for the short journey back into Athens City Centre or Athens airport.
