Aloha Members' !!! —RENEWALS OF MEMBERSHIP ARE DUE— So far August has been lucky for us. No storms and some decent little waves re-cently. Great for this time of year. Many of us have been on vacation, busy with our families, homes, etc. and a little out of touch with the club. Let's get revved up for the upcoming season and our many social events. Get out and see everybody. Start with our August picnic that will be held Sat. Aug 19 at the south end of Carlin Park. A big thanks to Jim Doherty for volunteering to be this month's host. Plan on a great time with lots of laughs and good food when Jim is the host! Bring your boards even if there's no surf. It makes for a nice setting. We're looking for a volunteer for next month's picnic, so call me (Mark Brainard-339-3450) if you'd like to be the host. Next month's monthly meeting will be at on Monday Sept 11, 7:30. A week AFTER Labor Day this year so more can attend. We have a NEW location. The Juno Beach Fish House at the corner of Donald Ross and US 1 is welcoming the Jupiter Nos-erider's Surf Club and seems anxious to accommodate us by offering Two for One drinks, chips and salsa during our entire meeting. The food there is excellent too and they will give us great service. Lets show our appreciation with a nice turnout. I'd like to take the time to say thanks to the following committee chairmen (or chair-persons) for their help. Membership Committee-Mary Jo McPhail Luau Party Committee- Ronnie Poliseo Club Surf Contest Committee- John Scotten Women's Surf Clinic- Jim Doherty Community Committee- Wes Bomfa Anyone who wants to help serve on these committees should call the chairmen or myself (Mark Brainard-339-3450). Get involved in your club activities! It's fun and rewarding! Reminder of the month: The best surfer isn't the most talented surfer in the water, it's the one having the most fun! Size or board or talent doesn't matter. Everyone keep the smiles on and don't forget the "Aloha Spirit" while out there. Let's continue to give our club a good name. See ya in the water, Mark Brainard/ JNR President

Nosara, Playa Guiones Wed., August, 16 2006 I thought this was rainy season! No real rain to speak of for at least two weeks!! Lots of sunny, beautiful mornings. Size has dropped over the past few days. This morning we have waist to shoulder waves rolling in. Shape is good with lots of shoulders for a long, fun ride. Not super clean this morning. Eve-ning sessions have been fun, fun, fun! Grab your long-board and come enjoy a bit of Nosara! Pura Vida and Tuanis! Posted: 16-Aug-06
