“ASCD resources have established the gold standard in K–12 professional development.”

—Douglas B. Reeves, author and researcher

In fact, a recent national survey from the independent research firm Education Market Research found that more educators name ASCD as the “industry leader” in providing programs and services for K–12 professional development than any other organization.

In today’s top-down, accountability-driven school market, more and more school spending is con-trolled at the leadership levels—from state educa-tion directors, to district superintendents, to school principals. So how can your organization raise its profile at the leadership level in education? By exhibiting at the ASCD Annual Conference and Exhibit Show. More than any other exhibit oppor-tunity, the ASCD Annual Conference lets you target the leaders who control school purse strings:

• ASCD Conference attendees involved in purchasing . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .81% • Approve/Authorize purchases . . . . . . . .29% • Recommend purchases . . . . . . . . . . . .34% • Select/Specify purchases . . . . . . . . . . .13% • Involved in other ways . . . . . . . . . . . . . .5%

In fact, this Conference draws more superinten-dents and assistant/associate superintendents, and more principals and assistant principals than any other single education conference. Plus, thousands of college faculty, lead teachers, consultants, and key school-level contacts too!

Attendees at this conference have an insatiable interest in

• Supplemental materials . . . . . . . . . . . .60% • Teacher evaluation/professional development . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .50% • Classroom equipment . . . . . . . . . . . . .48% • Textbooks/professional literature . . . . .48% • Computer hardware/software . . . . . . .42% • School improvement products . . . . . . .39% • Media/telecom products . . . . . . . . . . . .30% • Standardized tests . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .21% • Special education . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .20%

From our flagship publication, Educational Leadership, to our daily ASCD SmartBrief e-newsletter, to our popular professional development services, ASCD draws a larger share of school leaders than any other organization:

• Senior district- and state-level administrators who sign-off on millions of dollars in purchas- ing of instructional, curriculum, and staff development products and services.

•Principals and other school- based leaders who determine school-level spending on tech- nology, facilities, transportation, and staff development.

•Lead teachers who head-up improvement teams and subject area departments in their schools.

WORKSHOP GUIDELINES

Workshops will be held in the Philadelphia Convention Center and will be scheduled each day of the conference between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. (times are subject to change). Each workshop will run for one hour, with 30 minutes for set up and removal of equipment. The meeting room will be set theater style for approximately 50 or more people and will be equipped with an Internet connection, standing podium, microphone, and materials table. Equipment required, other than that which is specified here, is the responsibility of the exhibitor.

ALL submissions received are subject to approval by ASCD. Applications are read and assigned on a first-come-first-served basis and will cost $975 each. Full payment must accompany the application and no refund will be issued if a workshop is assigned and then cancelled. Payment is refunded for applications not assigned.

Workshop applications will only be accepted from exhibitors participating in the 2012 Exhibit Show. Please note: If an exhibitor cancels booth space, that exhibitor’s workshop will automatically be cancelled, and there will be no refund of the workshop fee. Workshop sessions will be included in the 2012 Conference Program Book, only if received by August 13, 2011. Otherwise, the listing will appear in the Addendum of the ASCD Conference Daily.

Promotion of the workshop is the responsibility of the exhibitor. ASCD makes no guarantees as to the attendance and popularity of such workshops. Selling is prohibited in Exhibitor Workshop sessions.
