“Connecting People to Jesus and Others”

Summer: Worship Schedule & Baptism

Vacation Bible School & Building Updates

June 2012

It is a misconception to have the impression that Bible EFC “takes a break” during for

the summer. But it is true that this year we have an intentionally different schedule. Join

us for worship each Sunday during June or July at either 9:00am or 10:30am.

During the month of June Pastor Tim’s sermons will revolve around the topic

of “Parenting”! We trust the Biblical Truth and principles will connect to all

ages and stages of life, toward equipping us to live out our roles as disciples

of Jesus Christ as family.

July worship will highlight our need to be obedient to the often

overlooked basics found in the “Ten Commandments” and

“Sermon on the Mount.” July is also the month our Youth travel

to New Orleans for “Challenge Conference 2012!” Here at our

facility Bible EFC will host “Son Surf Beach Bash” Vacation

Bible School (VBS) July 15-19 each evening from 5:30—

8:00pm! (Read much more about this inside this newsletter).

August 5th worship will be one combined service outdoors (weather

permitting) as we celebrate God’s outpouring of grace, mercy, forgiveness,

and love. Individuals who have realized His call on their lives will publically

profess their faith through baptism! Together, as His people, we will rejoice

and be reminded of His activity in the lives of people right here in Tomah! If

God has done a work in you and you want to follow Him by being Baptized,

contact the church office 372-9377!

Then August 12th and beyond our Sunday morning

worship times move to 7:45, 9:15, and 10:30am! All

three services will take place in our sanctuary, but at

9:15am you will find a “video service” with live

“progressive” music and Pastor Tim’s same message

projected as a video! Additional Children, Youth, and Adult

ministry options are being planned to launch August 12!

Finally, over the Summer Bible EFC is poised to further enhance through a few tweaks our

lobby/entrance areas—as well as redecorate our Sanctuary! Both should be done just

before the August 12th date! But the bigger building news is that we need a new roof!

Pastor Tim challenged each household to potentially give $300 above and beyond toward

funding this “Raise the Roof” project. Whatever is not raised prior to Aug. 1 will be taken

out as a loan (pending congregational

approval) toward beginning the project late

Summer. We are blessed to own our land

and facilities. But it’s time we re-invest

(just 5% of it’s value) back into it’s

structure so we can serve others here for

decades to come!

If you can not play but value fellowship and just want to enjoy a summer time pleasure join the team for their games and soak up summer-time softball each Tuesday night as a fan! Games begin June 5—at the printing of this we had not received a schedule. Check bulletin for times.

Just like “No Regrets” welcomed Dr. Tony Evan’s to Bible EFC—we are now planning to have Beth Moore live via video at Bible EFC for a one day “Living Proof Live Simulcast.” Many more details to follow, but make plans now to set aside Saturday, September 15 this fall as you will want to be here with Beth Moore (via video) at Bible EFC!

CRAZY DAYS CHALK WALK 2012

Join Bill Irving Saturday, August 4th and bring your creativity to life on the streets of Tomah! Bill is one of Bible EFC’s artists and he is inviting kids,

families, and other artist to join him for chalk art fun!

This is free but you have to register by July 20! Each participant (or family) gets their own 5’x5’ stretch of sidewalk to bring to life! It’s the day before our Baptism service so it may be a great opportunity to casually connect with and invite people to join us!

Registration forms can be found at the welcome table or you can contact Bill or the Tomah Chamber with questions 372-2166.

Pastor Tim wants to get to know you! Seriously! Each month he is looking to stop by various households and just visit for a while. So if you’ve never talked to Tim beyond him talking to you from the pulpit, or if it’s just been too long since you’ve connected with him, let the office know 372-9377 and we’ll schedule a visit! Or, don’t be surprised if we call you and attempt to set up a visit. (No

cleaning or food prep is necessary…)

What Makes A Dad

God took the strength of mountain, The majesty of a tree,

The warmth of a summer sun, The calm of a quiet sea,

The generous soul of nature, The comforting arm of night,

The wisdom of the ages, The power of the eagle’s flight, The joy of a morning in spring,

The faith of a mustard seed, The patience of eternity,

The depth of a family need, Then God combined these qualities,

When there was nothing more to add, He knew His masterpiece was complete,

And so, He called it … Dad.

Elder Meeting Highlights from April 10, 2012

Would you like to be part of a Christian organization that supports pregnant women who choose life for their child? The Morning Center, a new project of Samaritan Ministries International (www.morningcenter.org) is that organization.

The Morning Center is in it’s early development and has many needs. Women in our area are already gathering to use their creative talents to make baby quilts, blankets and to knit or crochet hats and booties. Eventually these items will be distributed to the new moms when they leave the birthing center or hospital. The first site that will be opened will be based in Nashville, TN.

If you are interested in being a part of this group, you can be involved by using your talents to sew, knit or crochet baby items or by donating fabric remnants (100% cotton) or yarn that you aren’t using.

Our next meeting is Saturday, May 5 at 9:00am at Bible Evangelical Free Church. We will be packing up the items already made and shipping them to Nashville. They will be used in the first fundraiser event slated for May 15th. Contact either Heidi Jordan or Jeanne Plunkett with questions.
