Learning Adventure for Art entitled “Amazing Artists & Curious Critics”

Specific Objectives of the ART Learning Adventure

• Each child AND adult in the school created a piece of art work that was displayed in a school

community wide art exhibition.

• Learned about famous artists & their styles.

• Learned how to evaluate pieces of art, both in terms of preference but also techniques used

• Children took part in before and after evaluations to show how their critique skills improved

• Celebrate artistic skills at OGPS – found our hidden artists & critics!

AIMS & OBJECTIVES…

• Create a memorable experience to inspire learning.

• Pupil centred/pupil choice/pupil led.

• Creates a purpose for learning.

• Children become the teachers! (They plan, teach & assess!)

• Hands on practical learning opportunities.

• Visits & Visitors to engage and motivate.

• Involves stakeholders (parents, governors & community)

Whole School Theme

Each class them choses a theme for their

classroom on that theme and turns it into an

exiting learning zone for children to visit!
