“Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.”
Benjamin Franklin
7 HABITS AT HOME
It is important to continue the practice of the 7 habits over the holidays. Be
Proactive to ensure the holidays are fun and also involve a range of activities,
for example, practise your number facts, improve your reading and
comprehension and write about special holiday activities. Teachers would love to read
students’ writing when we are back to school next term!

SCIENCE FACT FROM MS ZIOGOS
Why Moths Circle Around Light Bibs?
Moths can tell where they’re going by keeping the light of the moon to one
side of their eyes. But when a moth sees a light bulb, it mistakes it for the
moon! It tries to keep the light bulb “Moon” on one side of its eyes, so it
circles around it.
A MESSAGE FROM MISS POULTER
Well done to the Grade 6 children on their amazing Printmaking work they recently
completed in Art.
The Grade 5 students have also been working on some fantastic art work which is displayed
around the school. Well done!
CLASS REPRESENTATIVE
We are still looking for a class representative for 5A, 5B and 6A. If you would be interested
in this role please let your child’s classroom teacher know.
VOTE FOR MR WHITE
A parent in Prep B has nominated Mr White for 'A Day made better' award ran by Office
Max. The winner gets stationary for their classroom to the value of $ 2 000 and an Apple
Ipad. Mr White does not know about this nomination and it is meant to be a SURPRISE.
Please do not mention this to Mr White
What a fantastic Term 2 we have had. Congratulations to all
the students in Grade 5/6 on an impressive term of learning
and achievements!
Dear Parents,
In preparation for our school movie, a costume may need to be
organised for your child over the holidays.
The Grade 5/6 students will be a variety of characters. They might
be a student, parent, teacher or one of our monsters. Your child will
know what character he/ she is. Please remember the children will also
be dancing in these costumes so they will need to be able to move freely.
We are scheduled to film on the following 2 dates:
Monday 21st July (Year 5/6 Parents & Main Actors)
Thursday 24th July (No costumes required-just school uniform as usual)
Monday 4th August Year 5/6 Monsters
It would be great to have some parent helpers on the day with
organisation, costumes, make up and any other aspects involved. If you
can help on one or more of the above days could you please let your child’s
classroom teacher know that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much for helping with the organisation of this fantastic
project. We look forward to seeing our students be stars in our 2014
School Movie Production.
Please don’t hesitate to talk to us if you have any queries or concerns,
Thanks,
Laura Wapling, Arran Armitage and Teena Muscat.
HAVE A WONDERFUL HOLIDAY
&
WE LOOK FORWARD to SEEING YOU ALL AGAIN IN TERM 3!
