To Raise Money for PUNTA GORDA’S BRAVEST
Fashion Show Fundraiser
Saturday, August 5th
(Punta Gorda, FL.) – On Saturday, August 5th, (11:30am to 2:00pm), “The Ladies of Punta Gorda” will
strut the runway at Punta Gorda’s coastal tavern, The Turtle Club (139 W. Marion Avenue, Punta Gorda,
FL.) to raise funds for the Punta Gorda Fire Department’s Honor Guard.
The event sponsored by The Turtle Club, HipNotique and Nanette Leonard Public Relations will feature
these amazing women who you will recognize, and who continually support our community in so many
ways. These amazing women will be dressed to the nines with the hottest fashions and apparel from
the award-winning HipNotique (111 W Marion Ave, Punta Gorda, FL).
Guests will be treated to a delicious lunch prepared by Chef Winsett with your choice of chicken Caesar
salad, turkey club sandwich or pasta primavera. Ice tea and soda will be served. There will also be a
cash bar.
Please contact the Punta Gorda Chamber of Commerce by Wednesday, August 2nd to reserve your seats
and your luncheon selection (seating is limited; reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis).
Tickets are $40pp paid by cash, check (checks made payable to The Punta Gorda Chamber); and/or
credit card ($42. includes surcharge) at The Punta Gorda Chamber (252 W. Marion Avenue, Punta

AUGUST ST. VINCENT RUMMAGE SALE
St. Vincent de Paul, Sacred Heart Conference, in Punta Gorda will hold a rummage sale Saturday, August 5, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at its distribution center at 25200 Airport Road, on the northeast corner of Taylor and Airport Roads. A variety of items including household goods, furniture, clothing, jewelry, linens, shoes, purses, toys and books will be available. No merchandise may be inspected nor sold before 8 a.m. Proceeds will help the organization provide much-needed assistance to deserving families and individuals throughout Charlotte County. Rain date August 12. SVDP is an international Catholic lay organization founded in 1833 to serve the poor, regardless of religious affiliation. It provides food, clothing, home furnishings, and financial assistance to individuals and families in need.

Coalition Lunch Meeting
Tuesday, August 8, 11:30 am. – 1:00 pm.
Our Guest Speaker will be Vickie Scanlon, CEO of Charlotte Behavioral Health
Care. Vickie, well known and highly respected in Charlotte County, has worked in
community behavioral health for over 20 years in a passionate career focusing on
treating individuals with serious mental illnesses, criminal justice diversion and
eliminating suicide.
Vickie will be sharing on CBHC’s new program for 11-21 year olds, the connection
of drug abuse and suicide prevention and CBHC’s services available to teens and
their parents relating to teen addiction.

“Fundraising for The Arts” Workshop: Friday,
August 11, 1-4:30 p.m. at the Charlotte
Chamber of Commerce Conference Room in
Port Charlotte. This workshop will provide
fundraising essentials for small- to medium-size
cultural non-profits and will be led by seasoned
fundraiser Christine Wright, CFRE, CFRM, from
Orlando. Cost: $15 per person for Charlotte
Arts member organizations: $20 per person for
