FINANCE (TA) DEPARTMENT G.O. Ms. No.132 Dated: 23 - 04- 2010 Read the following: 1. G.O.Ms.No.180, Finance & Planning (FW:TA) Department, dated:20.06.1991. 2. G.O.Ms.No.32, Finance & Planning (FW:TA) Department, dated:15.2.1996. 3. G.O.Ms.No.52, Finance (PC.I) Department, dated: 25.02.2010. *** ORDER : In the Government order first read above, orders were issued sanctioning Computer Allowance at Rs.100/- per month to the staff working in District Treasuries under the control of Treasuries and Accounts Department, for attending to data entry work. 2. In the Government order second read above, orders were issued enhancing the rate of Computer Allowance from Rs.100/- per month to Rs.200/- per month and the same was extended to the personnel engaged in computer work in the Sub Treasuries also under the control of Treasuries and Accounts Department. 3. Based on the recommendations of Ninth Pay Revision Commission, orders were issued in the Government order third read above, implementing the Revised Pay Scales, 2010 to the State Government Employees. 4. The Ninth Pay Revision Commission, while observing that this allowance was sanctioned for the first time in 1991 when the use of the computers in Government Departments was not in vogue, and that the computers are now in extensive use in all the Government Departments not only by the Computer Operators / Typists / Stenos but also by all the employees at all levels. Therefore, the Ninth Pay Revision Commission recommended to discontinue the payment of this Computer Allowance not only to the staff working in Treasuries and Accounts Department but also in any other Department if it is being paid. The Ninth Pay Revision Commission further recommended that Computer Allowance should not be sanctioned to any of the categories of the employees working in Government Departments. 5. The Government after careful examination of the report, decided to implement the recommendations of the Ninth Pay Revision Commission and hereby order to discontinue the payment of Computer Allowance to the staff working in Treasuries and Accounts Department and in any other Department if it is being paid. Government further ordered that Computer Allowance should not be sanctioned to any of the categories of the employees working in Government Departments.

6. These orders shall come into force w.e.f. 01-04-2010. 7. Necessary amendments to the Andhra Pradesh Manual of Special Pays and Allowances wherever necessary will be issued in due course. 8.
