AP US HISTORY ’14-'15Mrs. Montague [email protected]/905-5500, ext. 6002533

SYLLABUS FOR 3rd NINE WEEKS

We will be focusing heavily on writing this quarter. Much of the FRQ and DBQ writings will be timed and prepared in class. For this quarter, more of your grade will come from essays, quizzes and tests. Assignments, such as chapter notes and summary charts, will not always be graded; however, they may usually be used to aid you on quizzes. At other times, they will be checked, but you will generally have the option to do an alternative quiz instead – however, please note that you must make a C or above on any of these alternative quizzes in order to earn any credit. All unit tests will continue to be cumulative! In addition, tests may also include essays and, generally, students will be provided a list of potential essays for each unit.

Since we will be using a good bit of class time for writing this nine weeks, it is absolutely critical that you read and thoroughly understand the chapters in your text. We simply will not have time to cover all the material in detail in class. If everyone comes to class having already read the material, we will be able to accomplish a great deal. Keep up the great work and go ahead and congratulate yourself - you've finished about 2/3 of your text already!-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Week 20 (1/20-1/23)
