Switch to Amsterdam hits the mark!

APEX will return to Amsterdam in 2017 following the

success of the previous event in 2014, when the show

switched to Amsterdam for the fi rst time. The fi rst

seven APEX exhibitions were all held in Maastricht.

The ninth APEX aerial platform exhibition will take place on May 2 – 4, 2017 and will again be co-located with the International Rental Exhibition (IRE) and the European Rental Association’s annual Convention. As in 2014, visitors will be free to move between the two exhibitions.

The switch to the Amsterdam RAI venue proved successful, offering exhibitors and visitors a larger, more modern venue as well as one that is more accessible from around the world. The result was growth in the number of international visitors (from around 55 different countries). The new venue also allowed the APEX organisers to offer a larger outside exhibition area located directly in front of the centre.

Among the more than 100 manufacturers and suppliers from all over the world there was a resoundingly positive response to the RAI Amsterdam venue, with good visitor numbers and a busy feel to the event. More than 4400 people attended the eighth edition of APEX with the numbers rising to 5500 when visitors to the neighbouring International Rental Exhibition (IRE) are included.

APEX is the undisputed global forum for the access equipment community. Participating in the triennial show will put your company in front of thousands of key decision makers with the power to grow your business today, tomorrow and for many years ahead.

The aerial platform industry is a truly global market, and APEX will be its key meeting place in 2017!

Good timing as recoveries build

APEX 2017 will be held during a period in which Europe’s developed access markets will continue to recover and reinvest, while North America’s access rental sector maintains its track record of almost double-digit growth.

At the same time the industry is being buoyed by the continued development of aerial platform markets in the Middle East, Eastern Europe, China and Latin America.

The world’s top 35 aerial platform manufacturers sold more than US$8 billion worth of equipment in 2014 – exceeding the level even of the peak years in 2006 and 2007 - and that level of sales is expected to continue to grow.

US rental market demand is increasing annually at between 7 and 8% (according to the American Rental Association), and IPAF is forecasting a return to modest growth for Europe in 2016 following fl at years between 2011 and 2014.

Recoveries have already begun in certain countries like the UK and parts of Scandinavia, but Europe is also now seeing the start of a long-awaited upturn in Spain, with Italy and France expected to be performing better by 2017.By 2017, there will be a real need to replace equipment acquired in the years before 2008/9.

The picture becomes clear: China’s emergence; continued rental development in emerging markets; the strength of the US rental market; recovery in Europe - APEX 2017 is lining up to be perfectly timed.

Each year some 1.000 national and international events are held in the Congress Centre, which is fl anked by the RAI’s three exhibition complexes.
