The costs shown in this Price List represent the typical materials package required for each model log and hybrid home in our catalog.

We also provide many custom log and timber home services.

For over thirty eight years, Appalachian Log & Timber Homes has offered our professional log and timber home erection service.

Our crews will travel to your building site to erect all exterior walls, second floor beams an decking system, heavy timber roof and rafter

system, roof deck and solid insulation panels, window dormers, and shed dormers, exterior window and door jambs, etc.

For any of our standard or custom log or hybrid homes, we can give you a specific quote for any level of heavy timber

Appalachian Log Homes produces three major log systems for our Basic Log Materials Package. The standard finish for each isan authentic "hand-hewn" appearance. Optional finishes include smooth planed, Rustic Edge, or a Vintage-hewn appearance

a.

Our standard TRADITIONAL system uses a 6" x 12" Western Hemlock timber (maximum log length is 40 ft.), broughtin from British Columbia and the Pacific Northwest. The standard width of our TRADITIONAL chink gap is 4 inches.

b.

Our unique authentic RUSTIC system also uses the Western Hemlock timber, but the width of the chink gap has beenreduced to 2 inches. Using a special free-hand tool, we add an uneven 45 bevel to each of the four long corner edges ofthe log. This produces a hand scribed look at the chinking line.

c.

Our log-on-log system is the DOVLOC style. For this, we utilize kiln dried White Pine. "Dead standing" EnglemanSpruce and/or Lodge pole pine available upon request. We chose these materials due to their dryness and resultingstability.

For modifications to any standard plan, blueprints may need to be adjusted by our architect with a nominal fee. Certainconditions (wind & snow loads - seismic conditions, etc.) may require the services of a structural engineer before blueprints canbe finalized. Custom plans are welcome and frequently developed to meet customers' needs.

(4) Prices reflect current designs as shown on blueprints. Due to occasional updating, our Standard floor plan layout shown in thecatalog may vary slightly from actual blueprints. Please contact our office or your nearest representative for specific details.

If doors and windows are supplied by Appalachian Log Homes, all jambs are cut to proper widths (if home is erected by ourcrew). If windows and doors are supplied by homeowner, all rough opening sizes need to be provided to ALH prior toproducing house. Rough opening heights are cut by contractors' carpenters as windows and doors are installed..

If Appalachian Log Homes contracts with our client to erect their log home, we automatically provide a written 10 yearStructural Warranty underwritten by the Residential Warranty Corp. (7) Freight charges are based on current rate per loaded mile from Newport, TN.

(8) Single story (ranch style) homes are erected with either a vaulted heavy timber cathedral roof OR a flat (level) heavy timberceiling deck. Standard pricing typically includes full cathedral style roofs with a few models using a combination of the two.
