Anyone who lras ever moved lcrows that planning is l<ey. Wlrile moving to a new apartment or

house can seem overwhelming, carr yor-r irragirre movirrg the docurnentary history of a prov-

irrce? Well, that is exactly r,vlrat tlre staff of the Archives of Orrtario has to do.

lrr fact, plans are already underway for preparing to move many of the 53,000 containers,

folders arrcl volumes of archival records presently onsite at the Archives of Ontario's current

locatiorr at 77 Grenville Street. Here is a bre.rlcdown of some of the iterns that will be moved

in this rnassive task:

boxed. Other staff are in the process of inventorying

the collections and identifying items destined for the rrew bLrilding

or fof storaqe at tlre Archives' offsite storage facility.

And so, inspired by Sir William Osler's sage advice and with

detailed plans in place, the Archives of Ontario is well on its way

to preparing for tlre move of its onsite collections to its new home

at Yor[< University.

HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN IN RIGHT OF ONTARIO, tas represented by the Archivist of Ontario,Archives of Ontario(hereinafter called the "Archives"),

the following propefi as specified below [and as described in Schedule A to this Deed ofGiftl:

to be the sole and exclusive property of the Archives.

In doing so, the Association understands and agrees that the Archives may have fulldiscretion as to the use, display and disposition thereof as it may deem to be in its bestinterests.

The material in this fonds shall be available for public research and examination, and maybe photocopied without the consent of the Association.

Further, the Association hereby assigns to the Archives all copyright to the propertydescribed above, and also authorize the release of its name as the donor of this property.

The Association is the sole owner, free of debt or lien of any kind of the said gift.

It is understood by Gail BittorJ, President of the Association of Administrative Assistants,Jhat this gift is rnade absolutely and uncondttionally to the Archives.

(hereinafter called the "Association"),

do hereby give and bequeath to

HER MAJESW THE QUEEN IN RIGHT OF ONTARIO,as represented by the Archivist of Ontario,Archives of Ontario(hereinafter called the "Archives"),

WHEREAS the Donor is the owner of property hereinafter described;

AND WHEREAS the Donor wishes to donate and the Archives wishes to receive suchproperty on and subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement;

AND WHEREAS the Archives is authorized by the Archives and Recordkeeping Act(S.O.2006, Chap. 34, Sched. A) to acquire by gift, bequest, purchase or otherwise, materialbelonging to or having a bearing on the history of the Province of Ontario and may byagreement with the Donor place such restrictions on the use of the material as may bestipulated in the Agreement.

NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the respective covenants and agreementscontained in this Agreement and for other good and valuable consideration (the receiptand sufficiency of which is mutually acknowledged), the parties covenant and agree asfollows:

On the 10th DAY OF May 2012, the following property as described in Schedule A to thisDeed of Gift

Extent 12 centimetres of textual records f ncfusive Dates: 1997 -2010

to be the sole and exclusive properly of the said Archives.

In doing so, the Association understand and agree that the Archives may have fulldiscretion as to the use, display and disposition thereof as it may deem to be in its bestinterests.

There are no restrictions. The material in this fonds shall be available for public researchand examination, and may be photocopied without the consent of the Association.

Further, the Association hereby assign to the Archives all copyright to the propertydescribed above insofar as the Association owns copyright subsisting in this property,and also authorize the release of its name as the donor of this property.

The Association is the sole owner, free of debt or lien of any kind of the said gift.

It is understood by Gail Biftorf that this gift is made absolutely and unconditionally to theArchives.
