Guide toSourcesofStatistics, StateStatisticalAbstracts,and Foreign Statistical Abstracts

Alphabetically arranged, this guide contains references to important primary sources ofstatistical information for the United States and other countries. Secondary sourceshave been included if the information contained in them is presented in a particularlyconvenient form or if primary sources are not readily available. Nonrecurrent publica-tions presenting compilations or estimates for years later than 2000, or types of datanot available in regular series, are also included. Data are also available in pressreleases.

Valuable information may also be found in state reports, foreign statistical abstracts,which are included at the end of this appendix, and in reports for particular commodi-ties, industries, or similar segments of our economic and social structures, many ofwhich are not included here.

Publications listed under each subject are divided into two main groups: ”U.S. Govern-ment” and ”Nongovernment.” The location of the publisher of each report is given ex-cept for federal agencies located in Washington, DC.
