What is an Apple iPad?The iPad is a sleek and resourceful eBook Reader, which is also the best way to experience the web and stay updated. It is a mobile tablet computer while being an entertainment system.
What can you do on an iPad?
• Shoot videos• Take photos• Play music• Perform Internet functions
such as: web-browsing, emailing
• Play games • GPS navigation • Social networking• Listen to music• Watch videos • Read e-books • Facetime
Businesses and the iPad• Companies have adopted
iPads in their businesses by distributing them to employees– Attorneys can respond to
clients– Managers can approve
employee requests– A survey by Frost & Sullivan
shows that iPad usage in office workplaces is linked to the goals of increased employee productivity, reduced paperwork, and increased revenue
• Since March 2011, the US Federal Aviation Administration has approved iPad use to cut down paper consumption– Alaska Airlines became the
first airline to replace pilots’ paper manual with iPads
– United Airlines was the next to follow
– Many airlines now offer inflight magazines as downloadable apps
Healthcare and the iPadiPads have made it easier to access patient records and medical images, look up drug information, schedule appointments, and even show patients educational videos at the bedside.

contracting services company) developed VHA PriceLynx, a business intelligence app to help healthcare organizations manage its purchasing procedures more efficiently and save money for hospitals

• It improves surgery preparation and recovery

What’s Next?• Apple iPads have given
individuals instant access to a wealth of reference, educational and personal health information, helped hospitals streamline their operations, reduce labor costs, improve efficiency, and helped health professionals with analysis and diagnosis.
