For seasonal Comcast service: Call Kevin Bauer at 802-578-9824 or email Kevin_Bauer@ cable.comcast.com. We’ve all had positive & negative experiences with guest services. Whether it’s the time you stood in line for 20 minutes at the country’s leading department store (because they only had 3 lanes out of 40 open); or the time you rented a car at the airport, left your wallet in it, & the rental agent personally dropped it off to you on their way home. The fact is, we all have encounters, good & bad, with some form of customer service each & every day. Unfortunately, it SEEMS the negative experiences outweigh the positive ones. At Apple Island Resort, every one of our team members is committed to providing the kind of guest service that will set a standard of excellence that is not typically seen in the RV Resort or service industries. Whether it’s something as simple as delivering wood to your campsite or spending time with you to select the perfect seasonal campsite for you and your family, we are committed to going the extra mile to make your experience at Apple Island an exceptional one. One curbside courtesy we have added to make your stay more pleasurable is delivery of packages. If you order something & it is larger than our basket, a Host will deliver the package to your site. If you are not home & the weather is fine, we will leave it at your door. If the weather is bad, we will store it in our facility until you are ready for it. Just one more way to way we are improving our customer service. Our resort is filling up! So exciting to see! I am seeing many children here right now, & I am sure that’s going to continue through the holidays. We all need to be extra aware of our surroundings while driving our golf carts & vehicles. Mother Nature continues to be a fickle ingredient at the golf club. Cool mornings & several unstable days each week makes time on the course valuable. The Men’s and Ladies Leagues and Friday Night Scrambles We finally had our first HOLE-IN-ONE!! Congratulations to VeeVee Rogerson who, on June 17th, shot a Hole-in-

One on Hole 2 using a 6 iron. Festivities ensued on the deck with the usual regulars in attendance. With summer finally here, come & enjoy the pristine conditions of the golf

course. Warm up with our driving net and then perfect your chipping & putting

skills at our practice green. After your round of golf, relax on the clubhouse patio with cold

beverages, snacks, & food from our General Store. Many a good time is found with friends critiquing their

rounds of golf & talking about other subjects with enthusiasm.

Summer Has Arrived!!

We celebrated family, friends, and fishing with the 38th Annual Father’s Day

Fishing Derby on June 15-17, 2019. Weather was cool, rainy, and windy, but the

diehard fishermen were out in force. We saw a great number of fish at the weigh-

in station at the Marina. When you thought you saw the biggest one come in,

here comes another one that was even bigger!! Large Mouth Bass, Walleye,

Pickerel, Lake Trout, and Northern Pike were among many of the fish weighed in. It was another great year.

Residents and guests are reminded that fishing is not allowed from the Apple Island Marina docks. However,

fishing off the state dock is allowed.

Have you seen the new addition to the D docks? We took a picture of it. Try to guess

the year of it. It is a pontoon houseboat that a family is docking here for the summer.

Thanks to all of you who have signed up for Boaters Helping Boaters. The list is in

the Boat House if you would like one. What a great thing to be part of.

Stop by! You are always welcome to sit on the porch and watch the boats and birds go by.

BOAT VERMONT BOATING SAFETY COURSES AT APPLE ISLAND RESORT

Our boating safety classes present an opportunity to refresh your knowledge of boating laws and water safety. We

highly recommend this course for family members; just in case something happens to the primary boat operator.

Remember that if you are born after January 1st, 1974, you must have completed a boater safety class & carry the card

with you on the boat to legally operate a motorboat in Vermont. This requirement varies from state to state, so be sure

to check the laws for the states you boat in.

The course is free, & you will receive your license to operate a motor boat in Vermont. It is also transferable to other

states. The class is conducted by the US Coast guard auxiliary and are held in the Apple Island Resort Community

Center from 7pm to 10pm. Please call the Marina at (802)372-3922 to register or get more details.

Upcoming 2019 Boater Safety Class Dates:

July 15, 16, 17

I would like to start out by thanking everyone who participated in our Mexican Dinner & Lasagna Dinner during these last few weeks. The food was great; the entertainment was exceptional; & a great time was had by all. The fun festivities are continuing right on into July.

July will start off with bang with our Independence Day Fireworks celebration on Saturday, July 6th. Be sure to bring your lawn chairs, bug spray, snacks, & an unprecedented number of “ooooohs” and “ahhhhs”, ‘cuz you’re gonna need ‘em. If you were here last year, you know that there is nothing like the fireworks display at Apple Island Resort.

Get the bunting, streamers, & other decorations out to decorate your golf cart, bicycles, or anything with

wheels to participate in the annual Apple Island 4th of July Parade.

July fun rages on with fun filled events like Friday Night Bingo, Sip & Paint, our Old-Fashioned Potluck Dinner and our Annual Auto Show. There is always something fun to do at Apple Island Resort. For a full list of our action-packed activities, check out our Activities & Events Calendar at www.appleislandresort.com.

Please come and join us for our events!

Audrey Coghlan, Activities Director

Check out Facebook for lots of photos of events, www.facebook.com/appleislandresort.

Wristband Reminder

A wristband is required to be worn when using the amenities and participating in events. Wristbands are issued to registered guests upon check-in. Visitors receive a wristband when registering at the office and paying a fee, if applicable. Residents, please be sure to have your wristband with you at the resort as these are not re-issued each season.
