Dies Irae A cantata in remembrance of the Battle of The Somme.

This unique and multi-faceted work presents a moving response to the pity of war by imagining it through the eyes of those caught up in the fighting, and those they left behind.

Dies Irae may be performed by a single mixed-voice choir, but for full dramatic effect it needs mixed voice, male voice and upper voice

children’s choirs. The instrumental requirements are: strings, piano, organ, percussion and trumpet. It was commissioned jointly by Leatherhead Choral Society and Epsom Male Voice Choir.

A secular requiem in one movement which juxtaposes poetry by Tennyson and Wordsworth with part of the Jewish memorial service for the dead.

Songs of Catullus For SATB choir and chamber ensemble or small orchestra

A cycle of settings, sung in the original Latin, of poems by the Roman poet Catullus (c. 84-54 BC). Commissioned by Concordia Singers, the work evokes the world of ancient Rome whilst remaining both contemporary and accessible.

The Song of Songs For soprano and tenor soli, SATB chorus, two pianos and percussion

A full-length setting of one of the Old Testament's most glittering treasures and the world's most beautiful and mysterious love poem. The colourful yet affordable instrumentation evokes the exotic perfumes of the ancient middle east and also help to make the work an ideal companion piece to the ensemble version of Carmina Burana.
