The supporting documents that accompany the application mustinclude:

ADMISSION CRITERIA FOR UNIVERSITY STUDYTo be admitted into the Massey University programme, applicants need to meet both the academic and English language requirements.

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTSTo be eligible for consideration into the Bachelor of Food Technology (Honours) programme conducted in Singapore,candidates must have one of the following qualifications:

• Diploma in Chemical Process Technology (Food Option) (Singapore Polytechnic) or

• Diploma in Food Science & Technology (Singapore Polytechnic) or

• Advanced Diploma in Food Technology (Singapore Polytechnic) or

• Diploma in Applied Food Science & Nutrition (Temasek Polytechnic) or

• Diploma in Food Science & Nutrition (Nanyang Polytechnic)

Students and graduates from regional universities with relevantqualifications are welcome to apply

ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

• IELTS (Academic): Minimum overall band score of 6.0 with no individual band score less than 5.5; or

• TOEFL: Paper-based test (P) - Minimum score of 550, TWE4.0; or Computer-based Test (C) - Minimum score 213,Essay Rating 4.0; or Internet-based Test (iBT) - 80 (minimumwriting 19)

3. TUITION GRANTThe substantial tuition subsidy from the Government of Singapore comes in the form of a tuition grant which isadministered by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and o�ered to all admitted students. Students who apply for and are approved for the tuition grants need only pay subsidised fees (also referred to as the “Direct Payment” portion of fees). While the tuition grant is not repayable, and Singapore citizens in receipt of it will not be required to undertake a service bond, the following accountability measures will apply:

• All Singapore Permanent Residents and International Students will be required to undertake a service bond under the terms of the tuition grant to work for a Singapore-registered company for three years upon completion of their degree so as to discharge some of their obligations to the Singapore public for the high subsidy to their university education.

4. PAYMENT OF FEES

All new students are required to pay their Junior 1 fees andother fees on enrolment day. Payment shall be made in the form of a cashier’s order or cheque made payable to

All students are advised to participate in the Interbank GIRO Scheme for payment of subsequent semesters’ fees. Interbank GIRO is an easy and convenient way to pay fees. It saves students’ time in queuing up at the counter. Under the Interbank GIRO Scheme, fees will be deducted from the students’ or their parents’/ guardians’ accounts. For new students, the Interbank GIRO deduction will commence in Junior 2. Students will be informed of the GIRO deduction date in advance by mail.

All fees are payable on demand and o�cial receipts will beissued (except for payment through the Interbank GIROScheme). If o�cial receipts are not received within seven days from the date of payment, a written request should be made to The Director, Finance. For payment through the GIRO Scheme, students may ask for a statement at the Finance Counter.

5. LATE FEEA late fee of S$15 will be imposed if fees are not paid by the date stipulated in the Fee Advice / Bill or as advised by the Finance Department. If fees are not paid after a reminder isissued, Admissions O�ce may deregister the student.

6. REFUND POLICY (SINGAPORE CAMPUS ONLY)Students who intend to withdraw from their course must complete a prescribed Withdrawal Form (obtainable from the Administrator) and submit it to the Administrator together withthe original o�cial receipt as soon as possible.

A refund of the Course Fees (less S$100 administrative charge) will only be made if notice of withdrawal is received before thecommencement of the semester. The administrative charges for enrolled students of the Bachelor of Food Technology (Honours) degree course includes the Students' Union Fee, Insurance Fee, Statutory Licence Fee, Registration Fee, Degree Preparation Programme Fee and fee for Freshmen Orientation Pack which will not be refunded.
