NSHA Careers Page • This is the link to the NSHA Careers Page: www.nshealth.ca/careers

• Under Public Postings, click on the link called View Postings above the icon to be redirected to the Careers Home Page for external postings.

NSHA Careers Page • This is a shared site between The Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSHA) and the IWK

Health Centre.

• Remember we just share a website and application system. We are two separate organizations that share one recruitment system.

How to Create an Account Sign In • All applicants need to create an account in order to apply for positions within NSHA and the IWK.

Please note, you only need one account to apply to both organizations. To create an account, click on the Sign In icon in the upper right hand corner of your screen. If you have already created an account, enter your email address, password and click on Sign In.

• You can also create an account on the Careers Home Page under Join our Talent Community, enter

your email address and click Join Now.

How to Change Your Password

• To change your password, once you have logged into your account, click on View Profile.

• At the top of your screen, click on the

Password Management tab, enter your current password and then enter your new password twice then click on Reset Password.

How to Search for Opportunities Careers Home

• To search opportunities available by organization click on the organization.

• To search all jobs in both NSHA and IWK, enter a keyword or location to narrow your search. To see all opportunities for both organizations, click on Search Jobs.

• To search by location, click on Go to Map. Available positions will be marked by location with a

red marker. Click on the black Job icon to see the title of available positions for that location. Click on the job title to access the job posting.

• To search opportunities by job category, click on the heading that best represents the type of

employment you are seeking. To view all opportunities click on the All Opportunities link.

How to Search for Opportunities Search Jobs • All positions posted will be listed by job title, organization, location and closing date. To

look at the job posting details, click on the job title.

How to Apply to a Position • To apply for a position, click on Apply Now. To save a job in your profile, click on

the star, this will allow you to apply at another time.

• Sign into your account by entering your password and click on Sign In.

• Complete the required information and click on the link that says I have read the date privacy policy and I accept it*.

• Read the information displayed on your screen and click on the Accept button.

• At the bottom of your profile page, click Next.

Candidate Profile

• Click on Browse to find your resume on your computer and click on Upload.

• The information from your resume will pre-populate in your candidate profile. Check the information to ensure it is correct.

Candidate Profile • Click on the +Add link to add additional

information relevant to your qualifications.

• Click on Remove to delete information

that is inaccurate.

• If you make changes to your candidate

profile, click Save in the upper right hand corner of your screen. Once your candidate profile is complete, click Next in the lower right hand corner of your screen.

information. All required fields are marked with a red asterisk *.

• If you submit incomplete information, an error message will be displayed on your screen prompting you to complete the missing information.

• Read the Statement of Agreement and click on the check box to show applicant acknowledgement.

Candidate Profile • Once your application information has

been completed, click on Apply in the lower right hand corner of your screen. You also have the option to click on Save your application and return to it at a later time.

• A confirmation screen will appear

on your screen confirming your application has been received. You will also receive an email notification confirming acceptance of your application.

How to Create Job Alerts, Save Jobs and Applications

Home • Once you are logged into your account, from the home page, you can conduct job

searches, access job management screens and update your profile by clicking on the links under each section.

Job Management – Saved Searches/Alerts • If you would like to be notified when

certain types of positions are posted, click on the Job Management tab, then click on Saved Searches/Alerts and Create New Job Alert.

• Complete the information relevant to the

type of positions you are looking for and click Save.

Job Management – Saved Jobs • During your job search if you clicked

on the star icon while viewing a job posting, you will be able to access your saved jobs under Job Management, Saved Jobs.

• To view each job posting individually

click on the job title. Click on View All Saved Jobs to view all saved jobs.

How to Create Job Alerts, Save Jobs and Applications

Job Management – Saved Applications • When you save an application that you have not completed, the application will be saved

under Job Management, Saved Applications. All job postings that have closed will be highlighted in pink. All job postings that have not closed yet, you will be able to click on the Actions column and apply for the position or delete your application.

• If you have completed the hiring process and

are the successful candidate you will receive your offer letter one of two ways:

o Online Offer o Email Offer

Online Offer • If you request an online offer, you will receive

an email notification with a link to your offer letter. Log into your account and click on View Profile.

• To view your online offer, a new tab called My

Offers will be available at the top of your screen, click on My Offers to access your offer letter.

Online Offer • Your offer letter will be displayed on

your screen and you will have the option to print or download a copy of your offer letter for your records.

• At the bottom of your offer letter, your

offer history is viewable.

Online Offer Options • To the right of your offer letter, there are three options. You can accept the offer, email questions you

have about the offer to the recruiter, or decline the job offer.

• If you have questions about your offer letter, email the recruiter first, do not decline your offer until your questions have been answered and you have all the information required to make your decision as to whether you will accept or decline an offer.

Email Recruiter • If you choose to email the recruiter prior to

accepting an offer, an email pop up box will appear for you to complete. To send yourself a copy of the email, check the box beside Copy me then click Send.

• The recruiter will receive an email notification

with your questions to address. Once they have contacted you and if you choose to accept the offer, log back into your account, click on View Profile, My Offers and then choose Accept Offer.

• Once you Accept an offer, a confirmation screen will appear and the status of the offer will change from pending to accepted.

Declining an Offer • If you choose to decline an offer, click on Decline Offer. A comment box will appear if you would like to include the reason you are declining the offer.

• The recruiter will receive an email notification that you have declined the offer and the offer status will change to

declined. You will be able to view any comments that you made regarding the declined offer under your offer history.

Email Offer

• If you requested that your offer be sent via email, you will be emailed a PDF version of your offer. Print your offer letter off, sign it, scan your signed offer letter and email it back to the recruiter named in the offer letter.
