Approaching the Gospels Together, An Advent Adventure Sponsored by St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church and the Stevenson School for ministry. St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 206 E Burd St, Shippensburg, PA 17257 All ages, stages and families are all Welcome! 9:30 Welcome and Begin the Romp Helen White has written such a tour guide for the Bible called “An Outrageous Romp through the Bible.” It’s a romp because you literally skip through the entire thing in 45 minutes. It’s outrageous because God’s story IS outrageous. Where else will you find such outrageous love? The Bible is a collection - a library of sorts -of adventures, love stories, intrigue, and mysteries. As a community we make our way through this library together, one day taking Genesis off the shelf to read and another day Mark. The Bible is the library of stories that binds us into one family. Come and gain a new perspective on the Birth of Jesus! Did you ever notice that Jesus’s birth is not recorded by Mark and that the two accounts as recorded by Matthew and Luke are very different from one another? Prepare for Advent by spending three hours with an amazing experience of the Biblical text. We are be blessed to have the presence of Helen White, a Biblical Scholar and teacher, Ginger Goodrich, Evangelist, and teacher, to help us experience the gospels in a whole new way, that is, to view the gospels in their text as if for the first time. 9:30 Welcome and an outrageous romp. 11:00 An approach to reading the Gospels together. End with prayer at Noon.
