Appropriate content base for my target audience:

My target audience are people who are affected by gluten or people who know friends or family who are affected by Gluten. The gender is mixed and the age is 14 and over (any younger and they would be confused).

I feel that my target audience is well suited for my content base. I feel that it is important to keep my target audiences attention throughout the production, which can be difficult with a documentary. From my research I have found that most audiences for documentaries often lose interest quickly when there are people being interviewed and they just drone on and on.

Although I will be having interviews with people during my documentary, I will not be showing them the whole time. My plan is to start with showing me interviewing them, to give the audience an introduction to who I am interviewing. Then I will put either my own relevant footage or relevant archive footage over the interview audio. This will keep the audience more captivated, because they have something to look at rather than just an interviewee talking for ages.

Another great example of how my content base is ideal for my target audience would be the topic itself. My documentary is ultimately trying to tell people how Gluten can be combatted and avoided. So my target audience will be taking in every word so they can use the advice themselves. It makes sense to have gluten as your topic for a target audience of people who suffer from Gluten.
