"The Dad's Club honored veterans of Roselle Park last year, so they wanted to honor alumni this year." Roselle Park coach Nick Agoglia said. "It's never been done here before." Invitations were sent out toformerplayers and coaches. "We have a little more than 80 people so far committed to coining back," Agoglia said. All alumni will receive a T-shirt, with the former players and coaches to be lined up along the tlrst base and third base lines before the 7 p.m. Roselle Park vs. Brearley game scheduled for Saturday night at 7. Agoglia said the Dad's Club received a commitment from John Signoreflo, who Agoglia said played shortstop for Roselle Park in 1942. Former players who are now head coaches and will be coaching in the invitational include Agoglia, Class of 1995, Tom Baylock of Scotch Plains, Class of 1992, and Dennis MeCaffery of Cranford, Class of 1987. All three played for head coach Jack Shaw, who Agoglia said will be there, along with his assistant Jim Simmons. Scott Bermingham succeeded Shaw as Roselle Park's head coach, with Agoglia taking over from Bermingham in 2003. Agoglia's father Pat, Class of 1970, will be there along with classmate SamAppello. Other alumni planning to be in attendance that night include Roselle Park present assistant coaches Steve Matthews-1997, Steve Tansey-2008 and JV coach Nick Badillo-2002; Assistant Principal -Athlet- ics John Wagner-1969, Richard Stockton men's bas- ketball coach Gerry Matthews-1959, Jim Riccitelli- 1972, James Shriner-1985, Michael Shriner-1982 and Robert Shriner Sr.-1949. Nine games were played the past two years, with one of last year's contests - between Union Catholic and J.P. Stevens of North Edison - completed at UC's field turf field. "We try to get a lot of Union County teams because we have a good relationship with those coaches. "I ask the coaches who they want to play, make the calls and that's pretty much the way it works. They're helpful and steer me in the right direction. Johnson presenting 'Recruiting Realities' Johnson High School is presenting "Recruiting Realities" May 2 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. There will be complimentary admission for all student-athletes and famlies. Recruitment guru Jack Renkens is the guest speaker and will attempt to explode the myths and present the realities of college recruiting. Myth No. 1: The time to gear up for a recruiting effort is late in the junior year. Reality: The best time to start is freshman year. It's true. Myth No. 2: Only the top athletes can expect to get opportunities. Reality: There are great schools all over the countn looking for good athletes, good students and good kids right now. RP Dad's Club Invite hasstandout baseball lineupFormer Panther players to be honored

This weekend's third annual Dad's Club Invitation-al at Roselle Park will honor former Panther baseballplayers and coaches and include a 10-game schedulefor the first time.

"The Dad's Club honored veterans of Roselle Parklast year, so they wanted to honor alumni this year."Roselle Park coach Nick Agoglia said. "It's never beendone here before."

Invitations were sent out to former players and coaches."We have a little more than 80 people so far

committed to coining back," Agoglia said.All alumni will receive a T-shirt, with the former

players and coaches to be lined up along the tlrst baseand third base lines before the 7 p.m. Roselle Park vs.Brearley game scheduled for Saturday night at 7.
