CAASPP TestingThe state CAASPP testing, California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress, will start on Monday, May 7th and run throughout the month of May to June 15th. Students will be tested in Math, ELA, Directed Studies and 8th grade Science classrooms. It is very important that students get a good night's sleep, eat a healthy breakfast and are on time to school each day during the testing window. Lockdown Barricade Drill
On Thursday May 10 during the beginning of 3rd period (9:58-10:08) we will be practicing the Lockdown Barricade drill that is part of the County Wide Big Five Protocol to ensure a safe learning environment. Please understand our office will be locked during that period of time. Lockdown/Barricade is the response to an immediate threat of violence to students and staff on campus. All staff and students remain indoors with all doors locked and barricaded, lights off, and blinds closed. All teaching/learning will stop as staff focuses entirely on the emergency at hand. No one is allowed to enter or exit rooms for any reason unless directed by law enforcement. Please be sure to talk with your children about school emergency response plans and review “The Big Five” periodically. Information is found on our website. Teach your children to follow the lead of the school staff in the event of an emergency.

Drama/Music Summer Camp Scholarship Applications for 6th & 7th GradersWe are offering two full scholarships to Hillbarn Conservatory Summerstage Camp and one full scholarship to Cazadero Music Camp. These scholarships are made possible by the Miranda M. Bosley Arts & Music Fund. Applications are available on SchoolLoop or in Room 3/9/41. This are two great programs and open to all 6th and 7th grade Borel students!
Hillbarn Drama Camp puts on a full-scale production of a musical, Guys & Dolls, Jr. Cazadero Music Camp offers campers a program of intensive musical study set in a gorgeous outdoor environment in the redwood trees of Sonoma County.

Pruebas CAASPP Las pruebas estatales CAASPP, Evaluación de Rendimiento y Progreso de los Estudiantes de California, comienzan el lunes, mayo 7 y duran a lo largo del mes de mayo hasta junio 15. Se evalúan los estudiantes en Matemáticas, Artes del Lenguaje Inglés (ELA), Estudios Dirigidos, y aulas de Ciencia de 8º grado. Es muy importante que los estudiantes duerman bien, coman un desayuno saludable y que lleguen a la escuela a tiempo cada día durante el tiempo de las pruebas. Simulacro de Cierre/Barricada
El jueves mayo 10 durante el comienzo del periodo 3 (9:58-10:08) nosotros vamos a practicar el simulacro de Cierre/Barricada que es parte de nuestro Protocolo de Todo Condado de los Cinco Grandes para asegurar un entorno de aprendizaje seguro. Por favor entienda que nuestra oficina estará en cierre durante ese periodo de tiempo. Cierre/Barricada es la repuesta a una amenaza inmediata de violencia a los estudiantes y personal en el campus. Todo el personal y estudiantes permanecen adentro con todas las puertas cerradas y barricadas, luces apagadas, y persianas cerradas. Toda enseñanza/aprendizaje para permitiendo que el personal se enfoque completamente en la emergencia actual. No se permite que nadie entre o salga de los salones por ninguna razón a menos que sean dirigidos por fuerzas policiales. Por favor hable con sus niños acerca de los planes de repuestas a emergencias escolares y repasen “Los Cinco Grandes” periódicamente. Información se encuentra en nuestra página de la red. Enséneles a sus niños a seguir las instrucciones del personal escolar en caso de una emergencia.

El Campamento de Hillbarn Drama realiza una producción de escala máxima del musical, Guys & Dolls, Jr. (Ellos y Ellas) El Campamento de Música Cazadero les ofrece a los estudiantes un programa de estudio de música intensivo en un entorno al aire libre bello entre los arboles secoyas del Condado de Sonoma.

Llamando a todos los bailarines No se pierda “Unlocking Talent” (Revelando Talento), una Actuación del Baile Aragón en el Teatro Aragón, jueves, mayo 17, 7:00pm Disfrute actuaciones en baile Moderno, Lirico, Hip-Hop, Contemporáneo y Ballet. Los estudiantes de Baile Aragón compartirán su versatilidad como bailarines y su creatividad. Los estudiantes van a ejecutar trabajos originales de 4 corógrafos de la Área de la Bahía, tanto com corografía estudiantil selecta.
