Please start using this site exclusively with the posted forms and do not save these documents to your computer. This way we can constantly update the forms as necessary and remain as up-to-date as possible. This will also help you, in the end, because you will not need to complete the same type item twice. Recent Additions Include : Purchase Requisition Form, Request for Travel, Enterprise Reservation form, Cash Per Diem Receipt log, Team Travel Reimbursement and Recruiting Travel Reimbursement. One Compliance note related to these items…Be sure that you keep itemized receipts on anything you submit, be sure to complete the form entirely, and always remember that the paper trail can be followed. An example, is that for every Request for Travel related to recruiting, you should be putting something in your recruiting log even if the dollar amount requested is zero. This example also brings up another reminder to policy…All recruiting travel must have the appropriate approval via a Request for Travel, even if the travel is local and would cost zero. QUESTION FROM THE COACHES Recently, one of your fellow coaches had a wonderful question regarding whether or not a college coach can video record a recruit, for review later in the recruiting analysis amongst the staff. I think this is a wonderful question both in an effort to improve the recruiting decision making process, but also as a teaching tool to younger coaching staff members. Thanks to a December 8, 2004 interp, you can “videotape a prospect’s regular practice sessions and regular game competition (e.g., high school or club team competition) during contact or evaluation periods, including any summer evaluation periods, provided the coaching staff member does not arrange or direct the prospect’s activities. It is not permissible to videotape summer camp competition because it is not considered regular game competition.” The word videotape would extend to any version of video recording available. NEWLY POSTED WEBSITE MATERIALSSeveral new items from the Business Office have been posted to the Compliance website. One Compliance note related to these items…Be sure that you keep itemized receipts on anything you submit, be sure to complete the form entirely, and always remember that the paper trail can be followed. QUESTION FROM THE COACHESRecently, one of your fellow coaches had a wonderful question regarding whether or not a college coach can video record a recruit, for review later in the recruiting analysis amongst the staff.

REMINDERSRecently there have been several Highlander Day events as well as spring break opportunities for High School students. Remember if they come to your office and want to chat: check your recruiting calendar first, then if you are not in a dead period you may continue the conversation and be sure to have them complete the Unofficial Visit form prior to leaving.

Also please be reminded of the April 15th no more than four skill instruction rule for those in the 8 hr segment, and be mindful of the one week prior to exams rule (no athletically related activities may occur during the week before and during final exams). Bylaws 17.1.6.2 – 17.1.6.2.4
