Princess First let me begin by thanking all the won-derful Ladies who have donated items or
money for the hospital or special project this past year. Boxing up the last few cartons to be sent gave me mixed feelings. Feelings of happiness and joy for the Shrine Children who will benefit from these items. Sadness for me because I loved collecting everything this past year and daydreaming of the Children's faces as they played or wore the items sent. It was terrific being your Associate Princess. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Next, many of you know Jim Miller, Past Potentate of El Zaribah Shrine and husband of our musician, Jackie, is currently the Hospital Chairman. Jim has graciously volunteered to deliver our donations to the hospital when he takes the donated wheelchairs. This will save our Court $300.00 or more in shipping costs. Please thank him whenever you see him.
The Wheelchair Soccer Team project has been very successful and I thank you all for supporting this new venture at Salt Lake City Shriner Hospital.
Welcome and congratulations to our newest Ladies of Sphinx Court. The Units would enjoy your visits so much while you are learning what each one is about. Remember to ask questions.
Congratulations to our new High Priestess Lady Janet Mielke and all her Officers and Aides. This will be another great year for our Court.
Lastly, thank you for electing me to the position of Princess. I will do my best to live up to your expecta-tions. What an honor! I am always reminded that it takes a village to get things done. In this case, I know it takes all of Sphinx Court to keep me on track. What a job you all have but I love you Ladies, more than you know.

High Priestess Again, thank you for the confidence that you have placed in me as High Priestess. I will work very hard to earn your trust & respect.
We have just received new members into our order and are so pleased that they have joined us. To each new member, I hope that you plan to visit all the units & choose one that best suits you. It helps to make the entire experience of LOS that much more enjoy-able.
Our 1st Ways & Means Project is a Golf Tournament on May 7th (in just a few days), BUT you don’t have to golf to have fun! We have food & fun for everyone else, too. If you are a golfer, call for a late registra-tion. We may have an opening. Also, we really need help, such as donations for the Silent Auction and working on the course. It is at StoneCreek golf club. Paula Mattingly has everything planned and it sounds like its going to be a great day!

Associate Princess This will be a very exciting and gratifying year for me. I find great pleasure and thankfulness that we’re able to help so many children through our Ladies Oriental
Shrine. Our court does an amazing amount of work for them. I haven’t found a “Special Project” yet, but I’m working on it now. I feel that this will be a special year for me and I hope for our shrine.
My aides this year will be a big help. I have a brand new member, Ardith Elmore, Past High Priestess, Nonnie Carter, as well as Jo Adams.
My congratulations to Lady Janet Mielke and all of
our officers and aides for this coming year. I believe
we’ll all help to make this year a great year for our
court and Janet.

Clowns cont. The Clowns are grateful for the clown classes with
which our men Clowns have assisted. Their expertise and willingness to help with our individual growth and personality development is appreciated. A special thanks to BB Clown and the men for our inclusion in the activities of the community. If you are interested in our events, please check with one of our officers as the events come with a short notice.
At one of our events as about ten Clowns were working away, a little girl, about 5 years-old, summed up the joy of being a Clown. She looked up at me with big, wondrous eyes as I painted a ladybug on her cheek and asked breathlessly, “Do all of the Clowns live together?”
A new generation has begun in the Clown unit as we bid farewell to our last Charter Member, Mary Lou “Giggles”. We wish peaceful hearts to all who are ill, caring for loved ones, and those who have lost loved ones.
Joyfully, Lady Pam Wade
Vice Pres.
