    TIPS AND TRICKS

    By Alex Tarasar

Between the ages of 14 and 17 and looking for a summer

job?Trying to find a job can be hard, even for people who have had ajob previously. One of the best ways to get a job, is to have previ-ous work experience. But how do you get work experience if youcant get a job without it? At ILS, weve found a great option.Granted, there are lots of other options, so talk to your case man-ager if this one isnt for you.

So whats the awesome job opportunity? Ecology Youth Corps! If you live in Pierce, Clark, or Thurston County, you can choosewhich of the two sessions to attend. The first runs from July 2nd toJuly 26th, the second runs from July 30th to August 22nd.For Grays Harbor and Lewis, there is one session which runsfrom July 2nd to August 10th. You need to attend every day ofwork, Monday Friday from 7:30 3:00 PM. You get half anhour of lunch, and two paid fifteen minute breaks. This means

that if you work everyday in your session, youll earn $1,220before taxes. What will you be doing you ask? Helping make our world acleaner, more beautiful place! The majority of the work involveswalking along highways, parks, roads, boat launches, andschools, recycling and removing litter. All you need to provide isa sturdy pair of work boots, and they have the rest of the gear.

Currently, the Ecology Youth Corps is taking applications, but getthem in quick! They stop accepting applications on April 2nd!Theres the link to apply.https://fortress.wa.gov/ecy/youthcorpsjobs/

If you would like assistance, contact your case manager.
