Start the week off with fun and useful pencils for all your
volunteers!
Give students and staff Earth Day buttons to reinforce earth-friendly values!
Hand out 100% cotton tote bags. Then, go on a nature walk and encourage kids to collect things they find,
like leaves, rocks, and pinecones, or include paper and let kids draw things they see!
Give each volunteer a Pin Poem card, and
write a personal message on the back!
Honoring your volunteers keeps them inspired and motivated to continue doing what they
do best--making your school great!
Teach kids about our big, beautiful planet and what
they can do to make a difference!
Host a Volunteer Luncheon. Put a candy jar at each place as a fun favor!

Field Trips
Summer Reading
Take your kids on educational field trips to keep them learning all
summer long!
Help your kids maintain fundamental reading
skills, so they are ready to advance next year!
Teach your kids to be
responsible for their own things. Make
sure everyone has a wrist
wallet to hold keys, coins and identification.
Recognition is great inspiration! Reward kids who achieve reading
goals with cute Book Band Bookmarks to
inspire them to keep on reading!
Launch a summer Read-a-thon and keep kids motivated to read by charting their progress on this Thermometer Tracking Tool.
When it comes to kids, safety is of the utmost importance. Use One Day Bracelets to identify and keep track of kids on field trips, and give parents
peace of mind.

Independence Day4
Celebrating Independence Day with your kids is a great way to promote unity, cooperation and
good citizenship!
When you see your kids demonstrating good
citizenship, reward them on the spot with fun flag pins!
Have kids color their own American flags on construction paper. Attach each flag to
a pencil “flagpole” your kids can wave in your 4th of July parade!
Decorate classrooms, common areas, and even your parade float with red, white and blue decorations to get
everyone in the spirit and reinforce positive themes, like patriotism, citizenship and community pride!
Ideas for an easy 4th of July picnic!

Summer Games 2012
Kick off your Games with an opening ceremony complete
with rings and a torch to get everyone in the spirit. Display the torch in a place of honor.
Hand out gold, silver and bronze medallions
for things like Participation, Most Improved, Best Sportsmanship,
and more!
Display flag banners and borders around your room. Choose a country for each day of the
Games, and spend all day learning about that country: language, food, geography, culture,
traditional dress and more!
Teach kids there is more to food than just hot dogs with an International Picnic Day. Decorate with international
flag tableware and serve food from different countries for kids and parents to sample. Let kids try their hands at
making some simple international dishes, too.
