Center provides developmentally appropriate child care and early school readiness in conjunction with fami-

ly support services. Proceeds from the Wonder Walk went directly to benefit the Rosa Valdez Center.

Peter Nuffer

Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation

Amount Raised: $2000

JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) is an organization that focuses on eradicating Type 1

Diabetes, a disorder of the body’s immune system. Unlike insulin resistant diabetes (type 2), Type 1 diabe-

tes occurs when the body’s immune system attacks and destroys beta cells in the pancreas. When your beta

cells are destroyed, the glucose from food stays in your body, causing serious damage to all organs if un-

treated.
