If you share my bad habit of misplacing or neglecting your gardening tools, here’s a tip to keep pruners, shovels, and hand rakes not only easy to find, but clean and dry too.

Into a galvanized bucket, place sand to a depth that the tools will stand upright in, while allowing enough room at the top to put the cover on the bucket once filled with the tools. Add a quart of motor oil to the sand, and stir it around. The oil and sand mixture regularly cleans and conditions the now easy to find,

clean, dry and rust free tools. Let’s get digging!
