April is National Safe Digging Month. Call 811 before you digAre home improvement projects in your future? If so, remember to call 811 before you dig.

Calling 811 before you begin your project isn’t just a good idea, it’s the law. The free service helps to reduce the risk of striking and damaging an underground utility line.

Calls to 811 can be made 24 hours a day. After you call, local utilities will mark the approximate location of their utility infrastructure at your site, identifying areas to avoid.

State law requires you call 811 at least three (3) business days before you plan to dig.
