Feed My Sheep Ministry

We thank all of our teens and parishioners who have faithfully supported our Casserole ministry. Unfortunately, due to Board of Health

regulations, the Christian Caring Center has informed us that they can no longer accept casseroles from us.

Therefore, until we can identify another organization that can accept our homemade food, we are

suspending this ministry. All remaining food has been donated until we can resume accepting food for this ministry hopefully

in the fall. Please continue to check the bulletin and

social media sites for updates on this ministry. If you know of any agency that can accept

homemade food, please contact Linda Xerri, Youth Minister @ [email protected]

Stop the Bleed Training In light of the March 22nd stabbing during Mass at The Oratory in Montreal, all of us, not just Father Dan, Father Roy and ushers, need to: be prepared to take action in an emergency; be aware and vigilant of our surroundings; practice “situational awareness;” and be confident to stay calm and assist in an emergency. Since a person can die from blood loss within five minutes, it is critical that everyone (not just emergency responders and healthcare providers) knows what it takes to step up, take action and STOP THE BLEED. On Monday, May 6, at 7:00 p.m. Parishioner Nicole Fox, MD, a Cooper trauma surgeon, will refresh our situational awareness skills and provide practical tips for staying calm in an emergency. Training on the use of tourniquets, a valuable and life-saving skill when done correctly, will also be provided. FBI agents and officers from Medford Township Police Department will be on hand to answer questions. We will be finished in about an hour. Time well spent!

Announcement of Mass Intention

From time to time, special prayers of the faithful are

used for special Masses, such as Children's Masses,

Sports Masses, RCIA Masses, etc. Therefore,

unintentionally, the intention of the Mass may not be

announced. To rectify, the Mass intention will be announced at the beginning of the Mass along with

the celebrant of the Mass.

Congratulations!!! Congratulations to Victoria Villalba who received the Sacraments of Initiation at the Easter Vigil. As a new Christian, she is called a neophyte. Victoria is now in the Period of Mystagogy where

she will fully participate in the Eucharistic celebration with all the faithful and continue to receive pertinent catechesis. May God bless Victoria, and may her faith continue to grow and bear fruit.

Show me the path I should walk, for I entrust my life to you. Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. May your kind spirit guide me on ground that is level. - Psalm 143:8, 10 NAB

More Congratulations!!!

Congratulations to the newest members of our Catholic community: Bradley Denn, and Romley Raines, who were received into the Full Communion of the Catholic Church at Easter Vigil. We also celebrated with Natacha Besancon, Eric Judy and Colin Thein who completed their initiation through Confirmation. Our community welcomes and congratulates them and continues to offer them our prayers and support as they continue on their spiritual journey.

"Do not conform yourself to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may

discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect." - Romans 12:2 NAB

completing your Sacraments? Contact Christine Brandt at 609-654-8208 ext. 113 or [email protected].

PREP NEWS

As the 2018-2019

religious education year draws to

a close, I would like to recognize

the 100+ dedicated men and

women who volunteered their time and talent each week to share their faith with the students of the SML Parish Religious Education Program. Heartfelt thanks are also extended to the volunteers who were responsible for the success of the Children’s Masses throughout this year. Furthermore, I must acknowledge all those who donated time, talent, and goods to benefit the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, the Missionary Childhood Association, the Christian Caring Center, and other charitable organizations in the name of PREP. Thank you and God bless you! Although PREP classes for this year were officially over on April 16/17, our work continues. Registrations for 2019-2020 PREP classes will be sent

to presently enrolled families towards the end of June. New families will find registration forms on the Website under the Faith Formation tab.

As always, volunteers are needed for the coming year as catechists and classroom assistants, as well as for babysitting, hall monitoring, and clerical

duties. We offer support and training. No experience

necessary - just a love of children and a desire to share your faith. Last, but not least, mark your calendars for ROAR! Life Is Wild -- God Is Good, Vacation Bible

School 2019, July 29-through August 2. Registration begins May 20. Check the Website and bulletin in

May for details. With gratitude for the support and prayers of our wonderful parish family, - MaryPat Scordato. DRE

Travel Card Raffle Benefits

Diocesan Seminarians St. Mary of the Lakes Knights of Columbus Council 6520 will be selling chances to win a $5,000 AAA MidAtlantic Travel Card at all Masses on April 27 and 28. Each chance costs $10.00. Proceeds of the raffle go to fund a monetary stipend for each of our Trenton diocese seminarians — our future priests. An SML parishioner has won the Grand Prize in three of the last six years. This year, it could be you! The winner can use the travel card for any travel expense, such as airfare, train tickets, lodging, tours, cruise tickets, or even a stay at an all-inclusive resort. You can even split the payout between two or more trips, or take more than two people, up to the $5,000 value of the Travel Card. The choice is yours. If you miss the opportunity to purchase a ticket at one of the Masses, call Ken Bodzioch at 609-744-1417 to get a ticket. Directly from the proceeds of last year’s raffle, the Knights were able to award $1,500 to each of the 18 seminarians in the Diocese of Trenton. In our parish, Fr. Rojas, Fr. Carlos, and Fr. Roy were each past recipients of support, thanks to your generosity. Please help us to continue our support to our seminarians again in 2019!

Thank You from the Knights of Columbus Knights of Columbus Council 6520 are grateful to our fellow St. Mary of the Lakes parishioners for supporting our Easter flower sale on Palm Sunday weekend. All proceeds benefit the numerous charitable activities of the Knights. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Vivat Jesus!

Knights of

Columbus Charity Golf Tournament Needs Your Support

to Help Expectant Mothers The Knights of Columbus are hosting their 12th annual charity golf tournament on Monday, June 10, at Medford Village Country Club. One of this year’s beneficiaries is 1st Way of Burlington County, which helps any woman or girl with an unplanned pregnancy find medical, legal, or psychological help as well as shelter, education, or adoption guidance. 1st Way believes in the sanctity of life, all life, the life of the mother as well as the life of the baby. 1st Way provides free resources which support life affirming choices. This is accomplished through a loving, non-judgement approach with peer counseling, education, and practical services. Over the past year, 1st Way has served over 2,600 families. Tax-deductible sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses and individuals. Options range from several sponsorship levels to merchandise and gift certificate donations to individual boosters. Golf registration is $175 and includes greens fee, golf cart, lunch, hors d'oeuvres and cocktail hour with hot appetizers, dinner, and dessert. The tournament is a scramble format and begins with a shotgun start at 12:00 p.m. Dinner-only tickets are also available for $45. A silent auction, raffle, and tombola offer opportunities to win great prizes.
