Fifth Sunday of Easter
For many non-churchgoers, Easter ended weeks ago.
But the Easter season remains with us throughout the
weeks until we celebrate the birthday of the church at
Pentecost. We have an opportunity for Easter reflection
and celebration for several Sundays, so if you feel Easter
passed you by, fear not.
Jesus tells us in John's Gospel this Sunday that he is the
vine and we are the branches. We gain nourishment from
the vine, and by staying firm and strong, we bear much
fruit. Whereas Lent was a time of preparation for the
Easter mysteries, this season of Easter is a time to offer
the spiritual fruits resulting from our prayer, fasting, and
penance. Of course, the nourishment that sustained us in
Lent continues into Easter and throughout the year.
Don't give up on Easter too soon. Stay connected to the
vine and all the other branches that grow from it. They are
fellow Christians trying to testify to the kingdom of God
by their lives. Allow yourself to get caught up in the cele-
bration of the risen Lord. Be nourished and grow into the
wonderful creation God has made.

to the Shrine of Christ’s Passion in St. John, IN on May 10, 2018.
Join together with 53 fun loving, faith filled people for St. Louis de Montfort parish pilgrimage to St. John Indi-ana to experience the Shrine pf Christ and Gift Shop at St. John, Indiana. We will travel with Miller Transporta-tion, celebrate Mass with Fr. Travis Stephens, associate pastor of St. Louis de Montfort and pray the rosary to-gether on our trip. Theibel’s will cater our lunch and snacks and water will be available on the bus. Trams are
reserved for your comfort at the shrine. Cost includes lunch and tip for the bus driver and priests ’ costs. Carmel Deanery and Indianapolis North Deanery parishes are invited to participate. NEW Processional Cross
Thanks in part to the generosity of parishioners
Mr. & Mrs. Robert and Joan Smith, a new processional cross
was designed by local artists Ryan Feeney and Adam Smith
and blessed before 5pm Mass on the feast day of SLDM.
Together, the bronze corpus and the cross bear the weight of
mystery, awe, reverence and wonder. Feel free to take a
closer look at the incredible detail and how the Holy Spirit
brought this sacred art piece to fruition over a period of
two and a half years!

• 40 Years since we were established as a parish…Yea!
• We have had 6 Pastors, well to be PC… 5 Pas-tors and 1 Administrator
• We have had 8 Associate Pastors plus 1 Senior Associate
• Our Campus comprises only 8 acres, but we use every square inch
• Our Campus has 6 Buildings including a Church, School, KOC Hall, Rectory, Admin Build-ing, a Ministry center and a Bell Tower, which I guess counts as a building too
• We have approximately 1700 families in the parish • Our school just began its 19th year of operation
• Our School Population has 501 Kids…Build it and they will come • We have a total of 27 teachers in our school, 1 Principal, and 1 Assistant Principal plus
aides and support staff
• We have a beautiful fountain with a shrine dedicated to Our Lady of Fatima with Blessed Lucia, Saint Jacinto and Saint Francesco, too
• We have 460 kids enrolled in CCD • Our Ministry Staff has 11 people plus 7 support staff

First Saturday Rosary Rally
Our monthly First Saturday Rosary at the Fishers Center Green
(116th and Municipal in Fishers) at noon has continued
throughout this LONG winter and we hope many individuals
and families will come out each month during the beautiful
months ahead! Join with parishioners from the 3 Fishers Cath-
olic churches as we continue to celebrate the 100th anniversary
of Our Lady of Fatima and seek to fulfill her request to pray the
rosary for peace. All are welcome to this peaceful prayer service.

plete an information sheet, the sheets are located outside
the sacristy, and the following requirements must be met in
order for a person to be appointed as an EMHC:
• Be a Catholic living in harmony with the teachings of
the Church and be able to receive the Eucharist
• Be of sufficient age (having been confirmed) and ma-
turity to perform the duties of an EMHC at Mass or to the sick and homebound in various locations (i.e. pri-
vate homes, nursing homes, hospitals)

Dave and Judy have been members here for 40 years and have been in-strumental in all the growth our parish has seen in those years. They along with a few others, have witnessed our entire history. Again, we’d like to thank them for their service and sharing “our” story over the last few weeks and in the coming weeks in our bulletin and news-letter.

Do you have 2, 3, or 4 hours a week to share with us?
The needs of our Hamilton County neighbors have increased significantly.
In order to serve them more efficiently, we need you!
• We need adult volunteers to serve as escorts through the food pantry, especially on Saturdays from 8:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
• We need organizers to help with sorting, cleaning and pricing donations.
• We need cashiers in our Thrift Store. • We need strong arms and legs to help move furniture
donations. • We need YOU and whatever skills you have to share!

Stephen Ministers
are here to assist in healing us and to help us stay focused on the love and compassion of Jesus Christ during changes in our lives. Stephen Ministers receive a year of specialized training to listen in confidentiality and pray. Ministers are now available for placement. meals to families with new babies.
We have had an influx of new babies at our parish and we are in need of some more people to help provide meals or gift cards to these families. Sally Burton Food
Pantry Opportunity
Our Sally Burton Food Pantry is looking for help on Saturday mornings (hours are 10:00am to 11:30am). You can be scheduled for a once a month rotation, or sign-up to be listed as a “as needed fill-in.” All High School age and above are welcomed and needed (High School age youth working on service hours should plan on working summer months also, as our pantry is open year round and service to those in need is not just a 10 month opportunity). of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA).
Summer Inquiry sessions are being offered
now! Inquiry is an informal, no commit-
ment time to learn a bit about the Catholic faith and to ask
any questions you might have about Catholicism or the
RCIA process. Summer sessions will meet on the following
Tuesdays, 6:30-7:30PM in the Merton Room (lower level

The CRHP Day of Renewal is a half-
day event (beginning with 8:00AM Mass and concluding at
noon) where all members of the Christ Renews His Parish
community can gather together in prayer, song and reflec-
tion to continue to deepen their spiritual journey. All cur-
rent or previous CRHP teams are invited to attend. The
theme for this day is "The Fruit of the Holy Spirit". As we
move through the Easter season and approach the celebra-
tion of Pentecost what a great way to spend a Saturday
morning – in prayer, reflection and sharing on the Fruits of
the Holy Spirit.

St. Louis de Montfort seeks a Co-
ordinator of Adult Faith For-
mation who will develop and over-
see adult faith formation opportu-
nities for the parish.
We are seeking the right candidate
to support SLDM by helping en-
gage adults, assisting us to shape and implement the parish
vision by focusing on small group interaction, marriage
enrichment, retreat opportunities, overseeing RCIA, and
various other adult faith experiences.
The ideal candidate should have experience working with
volunteers, and a person who is able to successfully inte-
grate an active faith life, a collaborative style, and strong
management skills. Evening and weekend activities and
meetings will be a part of the general work environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Catholic religious education, or Catho-
lic theology, and 2 to 4 years or experience in Catholic Faith
Formation. Master’s Degree a plus.
This is a full-time position with benefits and competitive

Fr. Janko will be in town for a short visit on his way to a
conference in Washington DC and would love to get caught
up with former parishioners and friends.
You are invited to visit with Fr. Joshua Janko on Tuesday,
May 15th, from 4:30–7:30 pm at St. Elizabeth Seton Parish
in Carmel, IN in the Social Hall.
Slides will run during this time together so you can see
some of his activities as an Air Force chaplain in Japan.
At 6:00 pm he will give a short presentation.
This is a pitch-in so bring a snack, hors d’oeuvres, or des-
sert in disposable containers, please.

PTO Fundraiser
The school PTO is doing a fundraiser through Musselman's
this Spring and Summer. If you are planning to purchase
mulch or any other bulk materials through Musselman's
this Spring all you have to do is give them the code
STDMCS at the time you place your order and 10% of your
order will go back to the school. The fundraiser is running
through the end of July.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is available every Wednes-day at 5:30pm prior to the 6:30pm Mass and every Saturday following the 8:00am Mass or by appointment.

Parents of children who need Baptism or children who are past grade 2 preparation and not yet in jr. high school, and need the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist, please contact the parish office at 317-842-6778. Please note that Baptisms are offered on the second and fourth Sundays at 1 p.m.

Sacramental Preparation—If you have any teens from the ages of 12-17 in need of Sacra-mental Prep please contact Reid Leazier - Coordinator of Youth Ministry: [email protected]. This would include Baptism, Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation.
