This is the day that we have been waiting for! I am very sure that this journey through Lent has helped you to see this day in a very different way. This day is so important in our religion that our Church gave us 50 days to celebrate, enjoy, and understand the meaning of this day. When we start a new season in our liturgical calendar, I always ask you this question: How many Easter seasons have you lived? Today, I am asking the same question to make you aware that God provides us many opportunities to feel his presence and power in our lives. Are you taking advantage of these opportunities? This is an excellent day that we need to enjoy, and feel free to see the goodness of our God. In our first reading, the apostle is telling us about Jesus, “He went about doing good and healing all those oppressed by the devil, for God was with him. We are witnesses of all that he did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem.” We are witnesses! I invite you to think about this phrase and pay attention to how this person describes what happened in his life and how he wanted to share it with everybody. Our Second reading is giving us excellent advice. “Brothers and Sisters: If then you were raised with Christ, seek what is above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.” Seek what is above! I was questioning myself about this, do I really seek all the time what is above? I often do not desire heaven. The good news is that God always is giving me opportunities to start again and find a way to grow in my relationship with my Creator. Today’s Gospel tells us about this beautiful day, and I always picture Mary of Magdala panicking! How many times are we like Mary of Magdala? I know some situations are terrifying, but we need to remember that God is always close and ready to help us in our difficult situations. In the black book, I read, “That is what I do at Easter: I get in touch with my own journey and renew my commitment to Christ and deepen my awareness of what my own baptism means in my life.” Happy Easter, again! I hope you have enjoyed these 50 days of celebration of what Jesus did for us. Remember, you can take advantage of this season and know a little more about your wonderful God. — Fr. “The one who had arrived at the tomb first, and he saw and believed.”

Dear Friends in Christ,

Happy Easter!

St. Joseph Mass Time Change

There has been an update to the time change at St. Joseph. The only mass time that will be changed is Saturday Masses that will start at 4:00 pm starting April 10th. Sunday masses will continue to be at 11:00 am including Easter Sunday Mass.

Covid-19 Update

As you may have noticed we have taken down the 20% capacity signs and have lifted this measure in Church. But with that being said, we are all still required to wear a mask and stay socially distanced by 6 feet. We ask that everyone does their part to help ensure the safety and health of all people that wish to attend Church in person at this tough time.

Easter Sunday Mass Time Change

It was originally posted that the mass time change for St. Joseph would start on Easter Sunday. This has now been changed and Easter Mass on Sunday April 4th will start at 11:00 am. Sundays there on after will continue to be at 11:00 am.

St. Joseph Ladies Guild

The ladies guild will be starting back up with our first meeting of the year on Wednesday, April 14th at 3:30 pm. ALL women of the parish are invited to join us! Come and meet your fellow parishioners. Our church needs your helping hands, and the good ideas in your heads. Need a ride? Call the church secretary and she will contact us to help. See you all there in April!
