PARISH LOTTERY CALENDARS

Parish Lottery Calendars are available in the back of the Churches. If we sell all of the Lottery Calendars we will realize a profit of $ 10,000.00. Calendars are $ 20.00 each and you get 275 chances to win. Prizes are $25.00; $ 50.00; $75.00 on most days and $ 500.00 on Christmas Day. Drawings run from April 1st thru December 31st, 2013. The Winning Number is the first (3) digit Pennsylvania Daily Lottery

number drawn each evening. Each Parish Family is asked to take at least (5) calendars to sell. Calendars are available in the back of the Church, please sign them out on the sheet provided. There are about 120 calendars left, with 60 left at St. Augustine and 60 at St. Francis. So far only 617 returns have been made. Please make your returns and help us sell all the calendars again this year!!! Sales will continue until all Calendars are gone.

NEW LECTORS & ALTAR SERVERS NEEDED

New Lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion and Altar Servers are needed to assist Fr. Cas at both of our Churches. We are in particular need of new Lectors to assist at the 8:00AM Masses at St. Francis Church and new Altar Servers at the 4:30PM Masses at St. Francis Church. If you have ever thought about assisting with any Ministry, especially by becoming a Lector or Altar Server, please speak with Fr. Cas or Deacon Ken. Altar Servers can be anyone who has received the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Adult Altar Servers would also be most welcome.

ANNUAL ST. BRIGID PARISH GARAGE SALE AT NEUMANN CENTER The Annual Garage Sale at Neumann Center, Choconut will be held on Friday and Saturday, April 26th and 27th, from 8AM to 6:00PM. You can participate in one of the following ways: 1. Rent a table for $ 5.00 to sell your own treasures. You may set up after 5:00PM on Thursday,

April 25th. 2. Donate items to the Parish to be sold. Items must be clean, usable, and working. We will accept clean children’s clothing this year. We will accept items on Thursday, April 25th, after 5:00PM. If you have questions or to reserve a table, please call Homan’s at 553-2860.

ALTAR & ROSARY MEETING

St. Brigid Altar & Rosary Society will meet THIS Wednesday, April 10th, at 6:30PM in St. Francis Hall. All the ladies of the Parish are invited to attend.

AD BOOK MEETING The first Picnic/Festival Ad Book Meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 17th, at 6:00PM in St. Francis Hall.

PASTORAL COUNCIL MEETING The Parish Pastoral Council will meet on Wednesday, April 24th, at 6:00PM in St. Francis Hall.

HAM & CABBAGE DINNER Thank you once again to everyone who helped in any way with the Ham & Cabbage Dinner. The total profit for our Parish was $ 844.57. This was a great fundraiser and chance for everyone to get together and enjoy the delicious meal.

FISH FRY Thank you once again to all who helped with the Lenten Fish Fry. The Fish Fry was organized by the CYO Basketball teams as a fund raiser for our Parish. The total profit was $ 900.00. This was also a nice get together and delicious meal!

DIVINE MERCY DEVOTIONS Divine Mercy Devotions are held following Sunday Masses at St. Francis & St. Augustine. You are encouraged to stay for a few minutes after Mass for this wonderful devotion. Devotions will be sung at St. Francis at the 8:00AM Mass, THIS SUNDAY, DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY.

CHICKEN BARBECUE The Rush Volunteer Fire Company will hold a Chicken Barbecue THIS Sunday, April 7th, at the Rush Social Hall in Lawton. Dinners are $ 8.00; halves are $ 5.00. Chicken will be ready by about 10:30AM. All are welcome to come out and support our local fire company and enjoy a wonderful meal!

WILDLIFE RESCUE & ADOPT AN ANGEL COMPANION ANIMAL RESCUE BENEFIT

Wildlife Rescue & Adopt an Angel Companion Animal Rescue will hold a Benefit at St. Francis Hall, Friendsville on Sunday, April 14th, from 2 to 5PM. Menu is Chicken Parmesan, Vegetarian Baked Ziti, Meatballs, Roast Potatoes, Gourmet Vegetable Medley, Salad, Rolls and Dessert ~ All you can eat! Take outs will be available. Cost: $ 10.00 for adults; $ 5.00 for children 10 and under. (Soda, beer, coffee, tea, are extra.) Host DJ will be Kurt Motsko. SPRING TURKEY SHOOTS The VFW Post 6824, will hold their Spring Turkey Shoots from Noon to 4:00PM on Sunday’s, April 21st, 28th, and May 5th. OPERATION RICE BOWL—Thank you for participating in CRS Rice Bowl! Our Parish helped make a difference in the lives of millions of people around the world suffering from poverty and hunger. To ensure that our donations will be put to use as soon as possible, please return your Rice Bowl envelopes by April 14th. Envelopes can be put in the collection basket. Collection total to date is: $ 862.75.

ADORATION HOURS OPEN AT ST. AUGUSTINE CHURCH! Adoration runs from 5:00AM to Midnight, Monday through Friday. The chapel is closed during inclement weather. If the adorer is sick, going away on a trip or otherwise unable to keep their hour, a substitute will be available to keep it for them. God will bless you, your family and the world a thousand times as much for this sacrifice of making a holy hour because God cannot be outdone in generosity.

MARY LAURA DONOVAN SCHOLARSHIP Any student who resides in northern Pennsylvania and is interested in attending a Catholic school in Broome County can apply for this scholarship. The scholarship was established in 1987 in memory of Mary Laura’s commitment to Catholic education.
