Batteries For Your VehicleThere are two main types of batteries: The conventional Lead-Acid (LA) battery and the Maintenance Free battery (MF). The main difference between the two is that the MF battery does not require regular addition of battery water to the cell. The LA does. Your car battery performs three main functions:

Ensure that the battery is the right size for the vehicle. Refer to the vehicle manufacturer’s recommendations.

Check the battery regularly for correct maintenance of charge. This can be done at every service.

Keep your battery and its connections clean and dry to prevent corrosion build-up due to water evaporation.

Apply a thin film of petroleum jelly to inhibit corrosion on the terminals. DO NOT use grease as it is flammable

Top up the battery with de-ionised water to maintain correct levels of electrolyte (this is only for Lead-Acid batteries)

You can purchase your preferred car battery at any of our branches countrywide. Kingsway is the sole distributor of Delkormaintenance -free batteries. We have also introduced free battery testing thanks to Midtronics’ range of testers which can identify a dying or dead battery, test your car starter systems and alternator as well as to give an accuracy of what is wrong with either the battery or your car. The Midtronics EXP analyser is a hand-held gadget that gives immediate reports and unparalleled accuracy for decision-making.

It is used to operate the starter motor and to provide current for the ignition system during engine cranking. Starting the car is the battery’s most important function.

It may be needed to supplement the charging system of the vehicle. Both the battery and the alternator supply electricity when demand is high.

It is used to operate lighting, accessories or other electrical systems, whether the engine is running or not.

How to Care For Your Car Battery

ka, Ananas Mall customers, industries located in

Thika as well as motorists using the Thika highway. Heading the

TYRE EXPERTSCustomer Service Training for Kingsway Team

Corporate Talent Solutions trains the workshop team on professional customer care during a training seminar held in March.

TEAM PROFILETejal Swetal Shah – Charming Corner Plaza Branch Customers One Sale at a Time

Kingsway staff engaged in a customer care training workshop early in March this year. Workshop staff from various branches countrywide benefited from the theory and practical sessions held at Kingsway’s Funzi Road Training Centre. Organized by the human resources department, the classes were geared at enabling staff to better handle customer queries and price negotiations. Kingsway customers can now look forward to exemplary service as well as prompt and informative responses.

Tejal Shah has worked for Kingsway Tyres for 10 years. She was first posted to Kingsway’s Gikomba branch where she worked for five years. During the same period, she had temporary stints in other Kingsway branches where there was a need for her exceptional sales and customer service skills. In 2012, Tejal was transferred to the Corner Plaza branch where she also doubles as the acting Branch Man-ager from time to time.

Tejal’s job entails following up on

customer emails and attending to walk-in customers. “I love my job because it gives me the

chance to interact with

new people and experience

the thrill that comes with closing a deal, she

says”

Thanks to her team-player, go-getter attitude, Tejal has received several accolades from the company including Best Sales Performance – a prize she has clinched thrice. In 2013 she was declared Best Sales Executive and

went ahead to win the same award the following year. Still in 2014, she led her Corner Plaza team to win Best Branch; and with all the odds against them last year, Corner Plaza emerged Best Sales Performance Branch2015.

“These awards are important because they show the ded-ication and extra effort we all put in when the branch was undergoing major renovations. We lost several clients due to the inconvenience of the refurbishments. Nonetheless, we made quite a number of follow-up calls and did our best to ensure that our customers received the products and services they required.”

When she’s not at work, Tejal can be found living vicariously through her 14-year old daughter. On weekends, the mother-daughter duo can be found ice-skating or at the cinemas or on the couch, watching even more movies.

With the revamp complete, Corner Plaza branch now boasts an ultra-modern tyre centre that includes four service areas and two alignment bays, all fitted to serve the branch customers more efficiently.

Tejal, the sales executive admired by both her team and clients, has only one appeal to her customers: “Welcome back! We have upgraded our systems to offer you a better service experience and the best customer care and advice this side of town.”
