Policy of the Month: Heat Illness

April Newsletter

The most important ingredient for abundance is attitude and your attitude is something

you can control. With that in mind, here are nine tips to help you live an abundant life.

1. Have abundance mentality. Abundance mentality says that there is enough for everyone, so someone else’s gain is

not your loss.

2. Be grateful for what you have. More than anything else, being abundant is about how you see life.

3. Smile. I know it sounds simple, but smiling is an easy way to change the tone of your day.

4. Start your day right. How you start your days greatly influences how they will be. Meditate, exercise, share breakfast

with family.

5. Prepare yourself for opportunities. Know your strengths, develop your skills and be observant.

6. Make the most out of every opportunity. Once you have an opportunity, explore the full extent of it. Don’t let it pass

half-used.

7. Build friendships along the way. Relationships give you a lot of joy in life. It’s through relationships that you love and

are loved.

8. Build upon what you’ve built. The easiest way to achieve greater things in life is to build upon what you’ve built.

9. Enjoy your life. Living an abundant life means you should be able to enjoy your life now without waiting for some-

thing big in the future. You don’t need a certain amount of money or certain level of success to be happy. You can

choose to be happy right now.

What a way to spend our Friday Evening! A group of

clients and staff met for dinner, then went to “Cruisin’

Grand” where we had the opportunity to get up close

to some amazing cars. All the cars are pre 1970

vintage vehicles. We watched as the cars “cruised” up

and down the street. There were collections of cars

from the 1940s and1950s which caught everyone’s

eye.

The San Marcos/San Diego CAC is gearing up for a busy

summer. We have SeaWorld, our County Fair, Beach

Party, and our annual Padres games. Raising money

while you eat? What a great match! Clients and staff

munched out on amazing hamburgers, fries, ice cream,

and some “healthy” fried green beans and salads at the

local Habit Hamburger joint. We are raising funds to help

pay for the transportation to and from SeaWorld. Thanks

to all who came. Get ready for our next Fundraiser. Info

will be out in the next month or so.

Independent Living Program / SE: Jeannie Leauma, Case Manager

In the world of Independent Living we all continue to struggle with our daily ups anddowns. It’s how we deal with these issues and what we have learned from them that is key.As we move through our daily lives, let us reflect on those we’ve helped and those thathave helped us. Let us all grow, prosper in peace, and appreciate life together.I appreciate each and every one of you.

A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL MY STAFF: Rebecca Anthenill, Gina Bohorquez, Ron Clayton,Amber Cox, Shianne Elam, Orlando Garcia, Maria Juguilon, Aleesa Stewart, Eula Wil-burn...

Supported Living program: Melia Cotter, Case Manager

The supported living program is currently under staffed. My team has shown tremendous heart, and all of them

have gone above and beyond to help each other out to ensure the clients receive the necessary care. I am so

grateful for my team and the compassion they exude. I admire their ability to work as hard as they do, put the

clients in front of themselves, and come together to ensure they are all taken care of. This program truly has a

family feel to it and that is a big part of what keeps the supported living program so successful. I truly have a team

that care tremendously about their clients, what they do, and each other.
