Our first group of Soldiers have begun heading home on the Environmental Leave Program. I’m sure many of you…as well as our Soldiers are excited at the opportunity to return on a mini-vacation. This time off is well deserved, and I trust that each and everyone of you will maximize the time spent with friends and loved ones. Stay positive, you’ll see your loved ones soon. As for the War Eagles down range, the Soldiers from HHC, 25 th CAB and the Brigade as a whole were given the opportunity that not many Americans have a chance to experience. COL(R) Bruce Crandall made a special visit to Afghanistan and stopped into Kandahar to visit and speak with our Soldiers. COL(R ) Crandall is a Medal of Honor winner from the Vietnam War, and as an Army Aviator he is among a very small fraternity of Soldiers who’ve been awarded this honor. A living legend and founding father of airmobile techniques, his stories were inspiring and equally colorful and like most interactions with old Soldiers, his words reflected the similarities that seem to occur amongst Soldiers no matter which era they serve. I’d like to issue a special thanks to the FRG. They’ve provided yet another great event for our family members. The Spring Eggstravaganza and pot luck social was well received, and from what I’ve heard there was plenty of sugar to go around. Face painting, balloon animals and cup cake design stations keep the kids busy prior to the unveiling of the slip and slide. The Easter Bunny made an appearance, and stayed to help with pictures and the ceremonial egg hunt. You all do a fantastic job and we can’t thank you enough. Until next month Aloha and Mahalo for your support. CPT Aaron Matthews “War Eagle 6” CPT Aaron Matthews War Eagle Families, April is already here. Our deployment is moving right along, and the War Eagles are maintaining that winning spirit. We’ve had some encouraging promotions and re-enlistments since the last news letter. Congratulations to MAJ Amamoo, SFC Harding, SSG Combass, SGT Sims and SPC Bradshaw on their promotions. SGT Briggs, CPL Alik, SPC Hecker, SPC Jordan and SPC Miles for their reenlistments. Morale amongst our team is bolstered by the open lines of communication between home and family.

Speaking of morale, nothing beats taking some time off. Our first group of

Soldiers have begun heading home on the Environmental Leave Program. I’m sure

many of you…as well as our Soldiers are excited at the opportunity to return on a

mini-vacation. This time off is well deserved, and I trust that each and everyone of

you will maximize the time spent with friends and loved ones. Stay positive, you’ll

see your loved ones soon.

As for the War Eagles down range, the Soldiers from HHC, 25th CAB and the

Brigade as a whole were given the opportunity that not many Americans have a

chance to experience. COL(R) Bruce Crandall made a special visit to Afghanistan

and stopped into Kandahar to visit and speak with our Soldiers. COL(R ) Crandall

is a Medal of Honor winner from the Vietnam War, and as an Army Aviator he is

among a very small fraternity of Soldiers who’ve been awarded this honor. A

living legend and founding father of airmobile techniques, his stories were

inspiring and equally colorful and like most interactions with old Soldiers, his

words reflected the similarities that seem to occur amongst Soldiers no matter

which era they serve.

I’d like to issue a special thanks to the FRG. They’ve provided yet another great

event for our family members. The Spring Eggstravaganza and pot luck social was

well received, and from what I’ve heard there was plenty of sugar to go around.

Face painting, balloon animals and cup cake design stations keep the kids busy

prior to the unveiling of the slip and slide. The Easter Bunny made an appearance,

and stayed to help with pictures and the ceremonial egg hunt. You all do a

fantastic job and we can’t thank you enough.

Until next month Aloha and Mahalo for your support.

the last news letter. Congratulations to MAJ Amamoo, SFC

Harding, SSG Combass, SGT Sims and SPC Bradshaw on their

promotions. SGT Briggs, CPL Alik, SPC Hecker, SPC Jordan

and SPC Miles for their reenlistments. Morale amongst our

team is bolstered by the open lines of communication between
