Always perform a test patch.Follow steps 1-5 in a small area and observe over time for product compatibility.After the test patch has determined that AquaSport Wood Floor Finishes are compatible with the existing finish, proceed.1.Inspect floor using a putty knife or scraper, scrape off any gum or other adhered debris from the floor, being careful not to damage the wood.2.Dust mop and then clean the floor using AquaSport Wood Floor Cleaner to remove scuffmarks, dirt, dust mop treatments and other contaminants. Allow floor to dry thoroughly.3.Screen floors with a #120 grit screen until all gloss is removed. (Screen grit may need to be adjusted if current wear dictates something more or less aggressive. Always finish with a #120 grit screen or lighter.)4.Vacuum then tack to remove all dust from screening, using AquaSport Wood Floor Cleaner as a tack rag solution. This process should be continued until there is no dust present on the tack rag. After this process is completed, the floor should appear uniformly dull with no areas ofgloss present. The floor is now ready tobe coated.5. Application / Re-coatingApply AquaSport 2-Part Wood Floor Finish and AquaSport Wood Floor Finish with the grain as evenly as possible with the desired applicator, at the recommended coverage. Do not allow ridgelines, lap-lines or puddles to develop; should they occur, work out immediately. Allow finish to completely dry (approximately 3 hours for AquaSport 2-Part Wood Floor Finishand 5 hours for AquaSport Wood Floor Finish, depending on temperature and humidity) between coats of finish. Apply additional coats as desired. Be sure floor is “tacked up” enough to withstand foot traffic (without leaving footprints or marks) before applying subsequent coats. It is not necessary to screen between coats unless more than 24 hours has passed since the last coat of finish was applied*. Should the 24-hour window of re-coating opportunity pass, screen floor with a #120 grit screen, vacuum and tack with AquaSport Wood Floor Cleaner.AquaSport Wood Floor Finish:Allow drying for approximately three days for complete “cure”. Always perform a test patch.Follow steps 1-5 in a small area and observe over time for product compatibility.After the test patch has determined that AquaSport Wood Floor Finishes are compatible with the existing finish, proceed.1.Inspect floor using a putty knife or scraper, scrape off any gum or other adhered debris from the floor, being careful not to damage the wood.2.Dust mop and then clean the floor using AquaSport Wood Floor Cleaner to remove scuffmarks, dirt, dust mop treatments and other contaminants. Allow floor to dry thoroughly.3.Screen floors with a #120 grit screen until all gloss is removed. (Screen grit may need to be adjusted if current wear dictates something more or less aggressive. Always finish with a #120 grit screen or lighter.)4.Vacuum then tack to remove all dust from screening, using AquaSport Wood Floor Cleaner as a tack rag solution. This process should be continued until there is no dust present on the tack rag. After this process is completed, the floor should appear uniformly dull with no areas ofgloss present. The floor is now ready tobe coated.5. Application / Re-coatingApply AquaSport 2-Part Wood Floor Finish and AquaSport Wood Floor Finish with the grain as evenly as possible with the desired applicator, at the recommended coverage. Do not allow ridgelines, lap-lines or puddles to develop; should they occur, work out immediately. Allow finish to completely dry (approximately 3 hours for AquaSport 2-Part Wood Floor Finishand 5 hours for AquaSport Wood Floor Finish, depending on temperature and humidity) between coats of finish. Apply additional coats as desired. Be sure floor is “tacked up” enough to withstand foot traffic (without leaving footprints or marks) before applying subsequent coats. It is not necessary to screen between coats unless more than 24 hours has passed since the last coat of finish was applied*. Should the 24-hour window of re-coating opportunity pass, screen floor with a #120 grit screen, vacuum and tack with AquaSport Wood Floor Cleaner.AquaSport Wood Floor Finish:Allow drying for approximately three days for complete “cure”. Light foot traffic, 1-2 days. Heavy foot traffic or athletic activities, 3 days. Never place carpets or rugs over freshly finished floorfor at least 2 weeks.
