Arabic Language Level 1 (Part A) Who can join? The course is aimed at beginners to the Arabic language. Students will need to be able to read the Quran and/or Arabic uently. They will also need to have a basic understanding of Tajweed to improve pronunciation, although this will be covered. The course aims to develop the reading, writing and speaking of each student by learning vocabulary, conversing and practicing writing. The course is based on Madinah Book 1 (completion of chapters 1-10) and Key to Arabic Book 1. What does the course entail? Course Duration: 12 weeks (2.5 hours per week) Course Material: You will be provided with a course pack consisting of Key to Arabic Book 1 and Madinah Book 1 from which you will primarily be taught. You are expected to bring a notepad and pen to take notes. Location of Course: Islamic Guidance Centre Third Floor 255-259 Commercial Road Whitechapel Homework: It is recommended that 2 hours of homework are completed for every 3 hours of class each week. This is due to the fact that every week you will be learning new vocabulary and rules of grammar. Examination: The tutor will arrange a suitable mock exam after week 8 in accordance with the progression of the class. A nal examination will take place in week 12 of the course. The pass mark is 50%. Certi cates: At the end of the course you will receive a certi cate from the Islamic Guidance Centre recognising your achieve - ment. Who can join?
