Blossom’s Arabic week

27th-30th November 2011

We started our Arabic week with an introduction to Emirati culture, we

discussed the traditional clothes like Kandura or Dishdash, Gotra, Egal,

Kerkusha, Abaya, Shela and Hijab…

On Wednesday the children experiment their own style in UAE colours and UAE

traditional clothes.

On Tuesday the preschoolers went to the Princess Haya Cultural and Islamic

Center, there, they enjoyed looking at Saj food preparation and henna art.

All along the week, we also enjoyed doing art and craft in the classes (please

have a look in the smartbooks to see the activities the children took part in

and the artwork they created), tasting traditional Arabic food, and listening

to beautiful Arabic songs, stories about camels and how Emirati fish using

Dhows…
