1.5.3.6 Design and fabricate wall and roof systems free of distortion or defects detrimental to appearance or performance. Some oil canning in rolled panels especially in the flats of the panel is normal and is not cause for rejection.

1.5.4 Serviceability Criteria: Deflection limits for major components based on VP Buildings standards unless otherwise noted. Deflection requirements on hangars with sliding or fabric doors need to be included for the door support frames both from dead load deflection in inches and uplift deflection in inches. This may differ from the building due to the specific door requirements and should be supplied to eliminate future deflection issues.

1.6 SUBMITTALS

1.6.1 Submit under provisions of Section 01300 - Administrative Requirements.

1.6.2 Design Data: Provide detailed design criteria and calculations prepared by a licensed structural engineer.

1.6.3 Certification: Manufacturer certification that the building conforms to the contract documents and manufacturer's standard design procedures.

1.6.4 Shop Drawings: Show building layout, primary and secondary framing member sizes and locations, cross-sections, and product and connection details.1.6.4.1 Anchor Bolt Installation Drawings: Layouts with minimum bolt diameters

(anchors are typically by others in the metal building industry).

1.6.5 Product Data: Information on manufactured products to be incorporated into the project.

1.6.6 Selection Samples: For each finish product specified, two complete sets of color chips representing manufacturer's full range of available colors and patterns.

1.6.7 Verification Samples: For each finish product specified, two samples, minimum size 6 inches square, representing actual product, color, and patterns.

1.6.8 Certificates: Welder certifications

1.7 QUALITY ASSURANCE

1.7.1 Manufacturer Qualifications: Not less than 5 years experience in the actual production of specified products.1.7.1.1 Member of the Metal Building Manufacturer's Association (MBMA).1.7.1.2 Primary manufacturer of frames, secondary steel, roof and wall sheeting, and

trim.

1.7.2 Installer Qualifications - Firm experienced in application or installation of systems similar in complexity to those required for this project, plus the following:1.7.2.1 Acceptable to or licensed by manufacturer.1.7.2.2 3 years experience with systems.1.7.2.3 Successfully completed not less than 5 comparable scale projects using this

system.

1.7.3 Mock-Up: Provide a mock-up for evaluation of surface preparation techniques and application workmanship.1.7.3.1 Finish areas designated by Architect.1.7.3.2 Do not proceed with remaining work until workmanship, color, and sheen are

approved by Architect.1.7.3.3 Refinish mock-up area as required to produce acceptable work.

1.8 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

1.8.1 Store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging until ready for installation.

1.8.2 Store and dispose of solvent-based materials, and materials used with solvent-based materials, in accordance with requirements of local authorities having jurisdiction.

1.9 PROJECT CONDITIONS

1.9.1 Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's recommended limits.

1.10 WARRANTY

1.10.1 Manufacturer shall warranty installed system for the periods described herein, starting from Date of Substantial Completion or ninety days from delivery, whichever comes first, against all the conditions indicated below. When notified in writing from Owner, manufacturer/installer shall, promptly and without inconvenience and cost to Owner, correct said deficiencies.1.10.1.1 Materials and Workmanship Warranty:

system and flashing (flashing under premium warranty only) under this Section will be maintained in watertight condition and defects resulting from the following items will be corrected without cost to Owner for a period of 10 or 20 years.

2.1.2 Substitutions: Not permitted.

2.1.3 Requests for substitutions will be considered in accordance with provisions of Section 01600 - Product Requirements.

2.2 STRUCTURAL STEEL FRAMING

2.2.1 Primary Framing: Rigid Frame (RF Series) solid web framing consisting of tapered or uniform depth rafters rigidly connected to tapered or uniform depth columns. Provide a clear span that supports the loads at bay spacing indicated. Frames can have a roof pitch as low as 1/4:12 and span can typically range from 30 feet to 300 feet in increments of 1/16 inch (1.6 mm) spacing, with the steel yield of 55 ksi.

2.2.2 Primary Framing: Continuous Beam (CB Series) solid web framing utilizing tapered or uniform depth beams or girders supported on tapered or uniform depth columns. Locate interior columns where indicated and designed to support loads at bay spacing indicated. With the CB frame, virtually any width building is possible with a minimum roof slope of 1/4:12 and the ridge at any desired location. Steel is 55 ksi.

2.2.3 Primary Framing: Truss Beam (TB Series) open web framing utilizing roof trusses supported on uniform depth columns. Truss beams provide a clear span that supports the loads at bay spacing indicated. Minimum slope of 1/4:12. With Truss beams, virtually any width or eave height can be achieved. Columns and top and bottom chords are 55 ksi, web lattice members are 50 ksi.

2.2.4 Primary Framing: Continuous Truss (CT Series) open web framing utilizing continuous trusses supported by exterior and interior uniform depth columns that supports the loads at bay spacing indicated. Minimum slope of 1/4:12. With Continuous Truss, virtually any width or eave height can be achieved. Columns and top and bottom chords are 55 ksi, web lattice members are 50 ksi.

2.2.5 End Wall Framing: Corner posts, end posts and rake beams.

2.2.6 End Wall Framing: Half-loaded full frames.

2.2.7 End Wall Framing: Full frames with end posts, for future expansion.

2.2.8 Steel Surface Preparation: SSPC-SP 2.

2.3 SECONDARY FRAMING

2.3.1 Purlins: Zee-shaped; depth as required; with minimum yield strength of 60,000 psi (410 MPa); simple span or continuous span as required for design. G-30 galvanized standard material with G-90 availability. Welded members are manufacturer's standard primer. Continuous for zees only.2.3.1.1 Purlin Size: 7 inches.2.3.1.2 Purlin Size: 8.5 inches.2.3.1.3 Purlin Size: 10 inches.2.3.1.4 Purlin Size: 11.5 inches.

2.3.2 Girts: Zee- or Cee-shaped; depth as required, with minimum yield strength of 60,000 psi (410 MPa); simple span or continuous span as required for design. G-30 galvanized standard material with G-90 availability. Welded members are manufacturer's standard primer.

2.3.2.1 Girt Size: 7 inches.2.3.2.2 Girt Size: 8.5 inches.2.3.2.3 Girt Size: 10 inches.2.3.2.4 Girt Size: 11.5 inches.

2.3.3 Truss Purlins: Truss purlins are used as roof secondary structural members when bay spacing exceeds the limits of standard zee purlins. They are constructed of G30 (G90 Optional) cold-formed lipped hat section chords and continuous, cold-formed round tubing diagonals.2.3.3.1 Truss purlins are available in three member depths: 30.0 inches and 34.0 inches

and 40.0 inches.2.3.3.2 30.0" deep truss purlin span range is a minimum of 11 feet 6 inches up through

60 feet 0 inches.2.3.3.3 34.0" deep truss purlin span range is a minimum of 13 feet 0 inches up through

60 feet 0 inches.2.3.3.4 40.0" deep truss purlin span range is a minimum of 15 feet 6 inches up through

60 feet 0 inches.2.3.3.5 Truss Purlins are available with a seat depth of 5.0 inches.2.3.3.6 All Top and Bottom chord bracing shall be field bolted.

2.3.4 Transbay Members: Bar joist, parallel chord, secondary joists; simple span, utilizing materials, sizes and yield strength as required.

2.3.5 Wind Bracing: Portal, torsional, diagonal bracing or diaphragm in accordance with manufacturer's standard design practices; utilizing rods, angles, and other members, with minimum yield strengths as required for design but in most cases, 50 ksi.

2.3.6 Primary Frame Flange Bracing: Attached from purlins or girts to the primary framing, minimum yield strength as required for design but in most cases 60 ksi.

2.4 MISCELLANEOUS FRAMING

3 EXECUTION

3.1 EXAMINATION

3.2 PREPARATION
