ARCHBISHOP RUMMEL HIGH SCHOOLTOUCHING HEARTS • TEACHING MINDS • CULTIVATING LEADERS
Archbishop Rummel High School educates each student according to the principles
of the Catholic Church in the Lasallian tradition of faith, community, and service.
In a caring, disciplined environment of social awareness and academic excellence,
Archbishop Rummel High School challenges each student to recognize the dignity
of life and to develop and share, to the best of his ability, his unique talents.
STATEMENT
or over fifty years, Archbishop Rummel High School has educated young men in the Lasallian tradition of faith,
community, and service, helping them to develop their unique talents to the best of their abilities.
ARHS is an Archdiocesan-Lasallian Catholic school, staffed by
lay men and women, for young men in grades 8 – 12. ARHS
educates young men of varied backgrounds and abilities while
developing the intellectual, physical, social, moral, and
spiritual well-being of each individual, challenging him to
be a living witness to Catholic values in the world today.
F
Archbishop Rummel does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies.
hen I first entered the halls of Archbishop Rummel High School as a young man in 1986, I had no idea I would be returning to the same halls almost thirty years later as
the school’s principal and president. This year, as I enter my fifth year as an administrator at Archbishop Rummel High School, I continue to be awestruck at the evolution that I see our young men experience during their tenure at our school, as well as the evolution of our school itself.
Our motto, “Touching Hearts, Teaching Minds, and Cultivating Leaders,” describes the philosophy of all our educators and administrators. We encourage each young man to pursue his unique talents and set a standard of academic excellence that prepares them to become tomorrow’s leaders. Educating young men, grades eight through twelve, in the Lasallian faith for over fifty years, we have established ourselves as a strong educational institution with a record of alumni who are involved in every respectable profession imaginable. We are most proud of these alumni and our students who approach their lives following the Lasallian traditions and morals established for them at Archbishop Rummel High School.
I encourage you to come see our new campus renovations and to experience what it means to be a part of our Raider Family. I am a Rummel Raider. My son is a Rummel Raider. Like the third stanza of our Fight Song says, “We are the pride of
the Southland. We’re here to stay. Raiders, the champions, boldly show the way!”

he Campus Ministry Program at Archbishop Rummel High School seeks to present to students the beauty of the plan that God has for their lives and to challenge students to live up to the demands of the Gospel. Inspired by Saint John Baptist de La Salle, all
student actions are permeated by the Holy Presence of God. Awareness of God’s constant presence emboldens one to live out his faith in all that he does. The constant presence of Christ in His Sacraments strengthens students as they seek to follow the narrow way. Knowing he possesses the Truth, he is able to follow the example of Archbishop Joseph Francis Rummel and enter into the world and profess the Gospel without fear or reservation.

ach school year students participate in a grade level retreat where they have the opportunity to get away and take stock of their faith and their progress in the spiritual life. Various opportunities are available both on and off campus for those who wish to invest in their spiritual development. The
retreat program culminates with an overnight retreat experience during senior year.
The service program at Archbishop Rummel High School is rooted in the Lasallian charisms of faith, community, and service. Service flows from our faith in the Living God as our response to Christ’s answer of the greatest commandment, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself ” (Matthew 22:37-39). Service is accomplished to memorialize Archbishop Joseph Francis Rummel’s Episcopal motto “Animam pro ovibus ponere” – “To give one’s life for the sheep.”
