Revision History
B.1 Starting revision
B.2 Changed C8
On the boards with serial number from 0001 to 0091 the capacitance has too low rating voltage
for the maximum operating voltage.
Remove the capacitance; no need to solder a new one
The board serial number is located on a label on the lower side of the board

2- CONNECTORS DESCRIPTION
CN1: USB DEVICE CONNECTOR - CONSOLE (Sheet 15/17 of the schematic)
DESCRIPTION: USB mini-B standard connector. Errors messages and boot commands are redirected to UART2 data lines. To make as easy as possible the connection to a PC, on the board the UART signals are connected to Device USB port ( U1 FTDI FT230XQ). LED1 and LED2 blink on RxD and TxD lines activity.
CN2: RASPBERRY Pi EXPANSION CONNECTOR (Sheet 17/17 of the schematic)

Tibidabo board offers an expansion connector compliant to Raspberry Pi GPIO board.
On the standard Raspberry PI board the GPIO connector is a 2x13 pins male strip p2,54mm.
Recently, the signals assignment of the connector has been expanded with the new 2.0 revision, but this version is compatible with the old pinout.

Connector signals and power pins are visible in the table on the right.
Usually a 26 pins flat cable is used to connect external HW to the GPIO connector.
On the Tibidabo board the GPIO connector (named CN2) is a 2x13 pins boxed male header with pin 1 marked and with cutout polarization.
Hardware implementation on Tibidado board is different but electrically and functionally compatible: Raspberry Pi board uses Broadcom BCM2835 ARM Pheripheral while Tibidabo uses the powerfull resources of the i.MX6 microprocessor. The following is a part of the interface
schematic of Tibidabo.
7 Architech Architech Tibidabo Rev. B.2 - HARDWARE DESCRIPTION - V. 01/2014
To interface CN2 Tibidabo connector to a breakout board, many and different commercial hardware parts could be used.
The left image shows an affordable solution purchased in the web market: - the GPIO flat cable with its crimped female connectors; - the Breakout Board Kit PRO with integrated 3V3 power regulator and LED power indicator.
Some add on boards can directly interface the GPIO connector and different applications can be ”simply” evaluated.
The image on the right shows the Tibidabo board with the NXP Explore NFC add on board directly connected via CN2.
A possible solution to connect your custom HW and/or more than a single add on board is to use a flat cable with multiple male crimped connectors as showed in the bottom image.
Note: Check carefully your hardware to avoid collision/short circuits of common signals used in the global application.

CN3: LVDS LARGE DISPLAY CONNECTOR (Sheet 6/17 of the schematic)
DESCRIPTION: i.MX6 processor drives two LVDS serial ports (dual channel interface): one port up to 165Mpixels/sec or two ports up to 85Mpixel/sec (for example WUXGA at 60 Hz) each. Tibidabo board can drive a large LCD display in Full-HD mode (1080p – HDTV) at a resolution of 1920x1080. NOTES:
CN3 connector 1-51 numbering is reversed with respect Samsung monitor datasheet to use a flat ribbon LVDS cable like AWM 2896 80C VW-1 JAE-WX-F- and (2x) connector JAE FI-RE51CL.
Example: PANASONIC 42cm LVDS CABLE AWM 2896 80C VW-1 JAE-WX-F-b1114BL.
Pay attention when a conventional multiwire twisted cable is used: pin inversion damage board!
To drive Samsung display, the Tibidabo power supply range has to be 11-13V and must deliver 1,5A (Inrush current 5A)
The LCD backlight must be externally powered.
