About the companyArise Construction Inc, dba Arise Solar, was launched in January of 2007 by Glenn & Kristin Siemens to market, design and sell solar electric PV systems to residential, commercial and non-profit entities. Sine its inception, Arise Solar has doubled its sales annually. In 2010, Arise Construction Inc became involved with Pacific West Builders and became their only designer and installer of solar electric systems on their new Multi-Family Affordable Housing Projects being installed in California. Fourteen of these projects have been installed to date, totaling 928 Kw for these projects alone.

In the fall of 2008, Del Monte Foods contracted with SunPower Corporation, Systems to install a solar photovoltaic system totaling 759 kW at two sites in Kingsburg, CA. SunPower subcontracted with Arise Solar to do the installation of the 2,680 solar panels. Six hundred were mounted on a metal roof with S5 clips, and the remainder utilized the SunPower T10 non- penetrating mount on a nearly flat PVC membrane roof. SunPower was the general contractor and provided subcontractor oversight during the project.

As the engineering lead on the project, my primary contacts were with SunPower, but I was intimately involved with the project and also had opportunity to communicate directly with Arise employees and to observe their work and manner as the installation progressed.I was very pleased with the work performed by Arise Solar. They were professional in their approach to the job. They did not cut corners related to employee safety on the roof. That was extremely important to me. The timeline for the installation was quite short, and Arise completed the installation quickly and efficiently, just before the end of the year, so that all the planned incentives were realized.

In addition, Glenn provided assistance to me in setting up the permanent warning line system that is currently used as part of our roof fall protection program.After three years of operation, the Kingsburg systems have performed at 98% of expectation. In that time, they have generated more than $1.3M in income and savings from California Solar Initiative incentives and the reduction of energy bills through the Net Metering program. In addition, significant tax benefits were also realized. This is right in line with the planned financial goals of the project.
