Dear Garden Club Friends,
My theme for the next two years is:"Our Beloved Arizona - Conserve, Cherish and Celebrate"
The theme carries three main goals:
Conserve - Preservation of our State's preciousnatural resources
Cherish - Care for our fragile desert environmentby maintaining good gardening practices, waterpreservation and proper plant selection
Celebrate - Get out and enjoy your garden, yourstate parks, and your glorious state
It is my hope that our Garden Clubs will offer their memberseducational opportunities to learn more about our native anddesert adapted plants, water harvesting, conservation andenvironmental issues.
It is my hope that our members will take their knowledge outinto their gardens and into their communities.
It is my hope that we will embrace our desert environment bybecoming responsible stewards of our beloved Arizona.
The State President's Project will be to beautify our civic andpublic places using native and desert adapted plants in ourlandscape design or in container gardening.

To provide education, resources and networking opportunitiesto promote the love of gardening, floral design, civic andenvironmental responsibility to members and the public.
We are a group of gardeners who have organized on local, state,national and international levels. Nearly thirty local clubs makeup the Arizona Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc.
We Work Together to Share:� Our love of gardening and design� Our concern for conservation of our natural resources� Our desire to educate our youth about gardening
and the natural world� Our commitment to better our communities through
civic projects
We promote the love and knowledge of gardening throughspeakers, conferences, schools and scholarships such as: FlowerShow School, Wildflower symposia, horticulture/natural resourcesscholarships for Arizona college students and many youth programs.
Partner with a wide range of local, state and national organizationsto support and actively participate in community projects.
Emphasize good conservation practices including wise water use,in planning community projects and our own landscapes.
Use of appropriate plants is of the highest priority, such thatneither rare nor invasive species are used in plantings or designs.

“FIELD OF GOLD”My memory has faded,My face is creased and lined;But know I still a placethat burns deeply in my mind.
Oh those youthful years,I only remember some.But of the ones that I do,They shine just like the sun.
That lovely meadow-Oh! If I could see againI would be fully satisfiedTo leave this life of men.
The enchanting glow-Flowers turning like the sea,Dancing to the wind's sweet tune;They still enrapture me.
Aromatic BlossomsGolden under the sun;I'd prance in them full of gleeWhen I was once so young.
Daffodil garlandsI used to make for Mother;Flowers grew abundantlyAnd one was like no other.
Their beautiful, blond heads,And graceful, bladed arms,Lovely in their innocence,They grew around in swarms.
Oh dear! My eyes are leaking.Sorry for keeping you still.I would love to visitThat field of daffodils.
