TTHEHE PPRESIDENTRESIDENT’’SS MMESSAGEESSAGE
By Mark Mizell
Happy new year -- a
time of reflection
and resolutions.
We may set out to
make changes to
improve on our
weaknesses or seek
out challenges for
personal and professional achieve-
ments.
To get such fulfillment takes work.
And to get new results takes trying
something new -- making a change.
Changes are inevitable. Why not be
proactive instead of reactive? The
end goal and direction means some-
thing different to each of us.
If you're familiar with "Who Moved
My Cheese?, " you know change can
be difficult for most of us. I hope we
won't hold back like Hem until op-
portunities have passed us by. But
learn from Haw to anticipate, adapt
and enjoy change.
January also reminds me that we just
have a few more months to accom-
plish what our ASHRAE leadership
team planned to do this year to in-
clude providing stellar professional
development and service opportuni-
ties for our membership, enhancing
research exploration and pulling off
a great CRC.
Let's make the best of this fresh
start.

Ron McCarty—MP Chair
The year is still progressing well, but
still need to push for additional
membership growth. This year we
had added 13 new members to our
Chapter. For the next meeting the
Membership Committee will be
sponsoring a Membership Promotion
event. Each Chapter Member that
brings a non-member to the meeting
will have their lunches paid for. In
addition, their name will go into a
hat for a chance to win a $30 gift
card. A sign-up sheet for the draw-
ings will be posted at the Sign-in
desk.
Another area of activity for the
committee is the reduction of ac-
count delinquencies. The committee
will continue make contact with
members to reduce the overall num-
ber of delinquent accounts.
As mentioned in previous newsletter
articles the Membership promotion
committee will be increasing our
efforts to communication to those
members that are eligible to upgrade
their membership. There is no addi-
tional cost for the upgrade to
“Member” membership grade. The
Member grade provides the member
the qualification for Fellow grade. In
addition, "Member" are considered
seasoned industry professionals and
are often seen as experts. The
process for upgrading is an easy
process that can be done online by
updating your Member Bio or by
email [email protected]
indicating an interest in advance-
ment.
