Defense Environmental Restoration Program (DERP):• Purpose: To perform appropriate cost effective cleanup to protect• Purpose: To perform appropriate, cost-effective cleanup to protect human health and the environment for DERP eligible sites; funding provided under special Congressional appropriation (2020 funds).• FY14 ~$54M obligated to ARNG project sites • NGB is the “channel of communication” between Army and ARNG per statute• MOA signed in FY10 with US Army Environmental Command resulted in ARNG-ILE central execution and management of ARNG projectsARNG-ILE central execution and management of ARNG projects• States fully engaged in decision-making processes

• Majority of workload is in the Military Munitions Response Program

Defense Environmental Restoration Program (DERP):• Non-DoD (owned) Non-Operational Defense Sites (NDNODS) Inventory• Non-DoD (owned) Non-Operational Defense Sites (NDNODS) Inventory completed in Dec 2009. These are sites with potential historic munitions use within the public domain (property not owned by DoD).•SIs are completed: 11 sites currently under contract for FY14 RI/FS.
