Combat is needed to deal with many threats around the world, it is also used to stability andprotection to some areas to allow Humanitarian aid and shelter to be sent in for the civilians, this also provides a threat to the enemies, which can possibly deter them from attacking.

On 22 June 1940 Winston Churchill called for the formation of an elite Corps oftroops... the Paras.

The Parachute Regiment forms the airborne infantry element of 16 Air Assault

    Brigade.

Its role requires its soldiers to operate with minimal or no support behind enemylines and against numerically superior forces. The Parachute Regiment consists of three regular army battalions, the 1st, 2nd,and 3rd, and a Territorial Army battalion.

Specifically, the 16 Air Assault Brigade is Britain's airborne rapid reaction force. The Brigade is an air-mobile force with the capability to deploy around the

    world at short notice.

After extensive research, I came across no information regarding the

personnel of the parachute regiment, I believe that this is due to theimportance of the regiment, the less information the enemy knowabout the Para's, the more of a surprise and threat they pose to

    enemies.

Past use and requirements:World War II In World War II, the Paratroopers were deployed to be dropped behind enemy

lines to cut off supplies which were being sent to frontline to provide ammo, foodand drink to the soldiers, this was a turning point in the war as this made thefrontline struggle, they were then broken and had to give way to the opposingthreat.

The Parachute Regiment was formed to provide the infantry arm of the airborneformations raised during the Second World War, in order to deliver a specialisedoperational capability.

    Current future and requirements:

The soldiers are require red to be speedy, physically fit, mentally robust and a very high level ofendurance.

They have to be a highly disciplined and professionally competent force, deployable by helicopter, aeroplane or parachute.

They must be light and agile, ready to deploy at short notice, inherently self-reliant and innovative, with the skill at arms, cunning and boldness to bring all their firepower to bear.

The Paratroopers are vey important for the Armed Forces as they can be deployed from all areas inthe air to get behind enemy lines.

For example; The Battle of Normandy, the enemy had a very strong front line which was preventingthe Army from getting through, but with the use of Paratroopers, they were able to break through theline and break them down by stopping supplies from reaching the front line.

Without the use of Paratroopers, the British Army would be much weaker as they provide thesurprise from the air instead of just the ground where we can be beaten.

deployed all around the world on the frontline, (I cannot name a specific as they are so evenlyspread).

Current future and requirements:Afghanistan The Military Police were given an operation to look into over 100 incidents which include the British

Forces were reported to have committed 30 killings and injuries to civilians, the Military Police then had

to investigate the killings and find out exactly what had happened before taking people through courtproceedings.

After all the reports were release, there was precisely 99 incidents on attacks to the Afghani people, thePolice had looked through, and as of yet, no British Soldier has been charged, due to the fact tens ofthousands soldiers come to Afghanistan and then onto other tours elsewhere around the world.

The individuals who work within Logistics are called Logisticians, there can also be a logisticmanagement to deal with wages/salaries of personnel.

Logistics involves the integration of information, transportation, inventory, warehousing, materialhandling, and packaging, and often security.

The team supply the goods either from land in trucks which are protected with fire arms, but also, theydeliver from the air, crates of produce are dropped from planes, a parachute is then opened and fallsdown to ground forces.

    Current and future use and requirements;

    Iraq

The most recent deployment is in Iraq, due to the hot conditions and cold nights, food and drink isessential for the soldiers to have, the Logistics team have deployed tonnes of produce through to thecamps and front lines since the war had started.

Military Logistic is very important to the Army because they provide the needs and requirements.

They cover different areas of the Army by providing personnel, they deal with food, drink, shelter,

vehicle, pay and one of the most important for soldiers, letter from family and friends. etc.

Without the this management team, soldiers and camps will not have the ammo and accessities (foodand drink) to help deal with the stress and demands of modern warfare.

Without the Logistics team, the soldiers could lose morale due to the lack of food and drink being provided, also, letters which are sent from family, friends or even their own children will boost their morale a drastic amount.
