MORNING ASSEMBLY REPORT

2017-18

Prayer is the practice of the presence of Almighty God. It is the place where pride

is abandoned and hope is lifted. It is an exercise of faith, hope and confidence.

Keeping this in mind morning assembly is conducted in ARMY PUBLIC

SCHOOL KAMPTEE.

School assembly programs are important aspects of a curriculum. It has the

potential to nurture and maintain a positive school culture, stresses interpersonal

intelligence. Therefore, varied programs are performed by learners daily in the

assembly.

It includes Lord’s Prayer, speech, thought, news, poem, song, dance, mime show,

talk show. Quiz, debate, puppet show etc.

Operating Procedure:-

Each week is assigned to a particular house for the conduction of assembly.

Thursday is assigned for the Classwise assembly.

Friday is specially kept for Quiz.

Various themes have been taken till date for the overall development of the

learners.

The assembly schedule is attached as Appendix-A.

Themes for assemblies are planned according the School Calendar and special

events/dates.

Important Themes of the assembly

April and May Month

Tipu House Assembly (03/04/2017 to 08/04/2017)

1. “Welcome assembly” was conducted on 03/04/2017 to welcome new students

in APS family.

2. “Health is wealth”, with this motto world health day was observed in the

morning assembly on 07/04/2017.

Pratap House assembly (10/04/2017 to 15/04/2017)

3. “Summer Holidays” are the days of recreation and rest since these days

come after hard work. This was the theme on 11 /04/2017.

Ashoka House Assembly (17/04/2017 to 22/04/2017)

5. “World Heritage day” was observed on 18/04/2017. Role plays were

performed by Students representing Seven Wonders of the World and their

importance.World Heritage Day is all about raising awareness of the importance of

protecting and preserving various sites around the world that have achieved world

heritage status.

Shivaji House Assembly (24/04/2017 to 29/04/2017)

6. Earth day was observed with the motto “save our earth.”Different types of

pollution, soil erosion, Deforestation were explained with the help of skit, article

etc.

Pratap House Assembly (8/05/2017 and 09/05/2017) .

7. “MaharanaPratap” was the theme of the assembly in remembrance of

Maharanapratap. A beautiful poem was the centre of attraction.

8. “World Red Cross” day was observed on 08/05/2017.World Red Cross Day is

an international day that is dedicated to alleviating human suffering, upholding

human dignity, protecting life, and preventing emergencies and natural disasters

such as flood, epidemics, and earthquakes. How UNO works for the welfare of

victim of war etc was beautifully represented by Posters made by students. The

theme “Red cross day” was well explained in beautiful song sung by students.

Information on Red Cross Organisation was given by an article.

World Red Cross Day

JUNE AND JULY

Yoga Day

Yoga day was observed on 21st of June in the assembly by the students of X and

XII, along with the Staff of the School. Importance of Yoga was well explained in

an article along with other programs.

Ashoka House Assembly (27/06/2017 to 30/06/2017)

4. “Back to School” was the theme to welcome students after a long vacation.

Also RamjanEId was observed in the assembly.

5. “Importance of Plants and tress” was the theme to create love towards nature.

Different parts of plants and their uses were intimated to the learners in the form of

Role play.

6. “Varsharitu me sawdhaniya” means precautions in rainy season was the

theme of Hindi assembly.

Shivaji House Assembly (03/07/2017 to 08/07/2017)

7. Rain, Rain water harvesting and water cycle were the themes of the week

with a view to save water.

8. “Importance of Newspaper” was taken to inculcate reading habit in learners.

Tipu House Assembly (10/07/2017 to 15/07/2017)

9.“Pollution” was the theme to make learners aware about increasing pollution

and its effect.

10.“World Population Day” was observed on 11/07/2017. This great awareness

event is to bring a population revolution globally as well as breaking sleep of all

the deeply slept people to pay their full attention and help in combating this

population issue.

On “World population day” a street play was taken to show how increasing

population is consuming natural resources and causing pollution.

Pratap House (17/07/2017 to 22/07/2017)

11. “Time management” is the key to success. This was the theme of the week.

This week Song, Article and Talk show was conducted to make learners aware

about time management.

Ashoka House (24/07/2017 to29/07/2017)

12.Discipline was the theme to inculcate discipline in the students.

“Discipline” is essential part of life. A nation progresses if the citizen live a

disciplined life.

13. In “Water” theme. Fancy dress activity was taken in which students enacted

as aquatic animals

.

14.“Kargil Vijay Divas” was observed on 26/07/2017 to pay homage to Kargil

warriors.

15. “Green day” was the theme on 28/07/2017 intimating about the importance of

plants and animals. A beautiful musical dramawas presented by primary

students.OOn this Occasion Prominent Personalities of GayatriParivar were invited.

They had given 200 Saplings to the School for tree plantation. Prominent Guests,

Staff and Students had planted saplings in the School compound.

AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER

Shivaji House (31/07/2017 to 05/08/2017)

16. “Never give up” and “Patience” were the theme of the week to motivate

learners.

17. “Outdoor games” was the theme and learners had performed role play to

enhance physical activity in students.

Tipu House Assembly (08/08/2017 to 11/08/2017)

18. “War is not good for human being”, there is a loss on both the side. It destroy

Humanity. With this view Hiroshima and Nagasaki day was observed on

08/08/2017 to intimate learners about consequences of war.

19. Happiness is the inner strength of mind and heart. With this motto happiness

was the theme in which song, role play etc were performed.

Pratap House (14/08/2017 to 19/08/2017)

20. “Independence Day” was celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm. March

past, PT drill, song, Speech. Role play dance and Display of GRC band were

themajor attraction.

21. “Janmashtami” was the theme on 16/08/2017. A beautiful Dance cum drama

was represented by students

22.“Hard work is the key to success” was the one of the theme. Hard Work isan

efficient and simple program for increasing one’s inner strength, perseverance,

persistence and patience, and overcoming procrastination, laziness and

indecisiveness.

23. “World Humanity day” wasobserved on 19/08/2017to pay tribute to aid

workers who have risked and lost their lives in humanitarian service.

A nice poem was spoken by the learner.

AshokaHouse (21/08/2017 to 24/08/2017)

24. Music is the part of life. Morning assemblies also help learner to bring their

inner talent out. Playing of guitar by the student was the centre of attraction.

25. Parsi community is the integral part of Indian culture. They fought equally in

Independence movement. “Parsi New Year” on 22/08/2017 was the theme to

make learners aware about their culture.

26. “RakshaBandhan” was the theme and Mute skit was performed on

relationship of Humayu and Rani Karnavati.

27. “Vidhnaharta takes away all worries”. Lord Ganesha is known as Vidhnaharta.

To mark the Ganesh Utsav“Ganesh chaturthi” was the theme of the assemblyon

24/08/2017. Dance, Song etc. was performed by students.

Shivaji House (28/08/2017 to 1/09/2017)

28. Everybody wants “Success” in his life. How to achieve success was the theme

of the assembly.

29. Quiz was held on national sports day. Amazing facts about sports were

informed to the learners.

Races were held for Primary student. Volley ball match was held for Secondary

student.

30. First teacher of a child is mother and second is father. To respect parent is the

essential part of Indian culture. “Respect your Parent” was the theme of

assembly.

31. Role-play of sense organs was done in assembly.

32. SwachchataPakhwada was started on 1st September. An article, Skit on

cleanliness and song were performed by learners. Students and teachers had taken

mass pledge to keep the surrounding clean.

Tipu House (04/09/2017 to 08/09/2017)

33.“हमाराअभिमानहभैहन्दी, िारतकीशानहभैहन्दी”with this motto

Hindi week was observed and various events related to Hindi were held. Poem,

song, speech, Skit, Dohe, Puppet shows etc were performed by students.

Pratap House (11/09/2017 to 15/09/2017)

34. “Tips for success in examination” was the theme on 11/09/2017 before

commencement of Half yearly examination to make learners stress free during

examination.

35.'Mannersmake a man' is a true saying. By manners we mean proper and

respectful behavior towards all with whom we come in contact.To inculcate this be

this behaviour “Good Manners” was the theme of the assembly.

A dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and

hard work. Assemblies are a powerful way to affect and motivate both staff and

students. Beginning your school day with a morning assembly can set the tone for

the day, the week or even the year. We make our assembly fun and exciting by

incorporating leadership opportunities for students, showcasing school talent, or

incorporating motivational or holiday themes. Morning assembly is a time to build

school community, set a challenge or celebrate an award.
